Bridge Day is this weekend! 🎉 The Farm Market will be open during our regular hours, so stop by and see us while you’re out and about.

Heading to Bridge Day? Grab a fresh juice from , a West Virginia based juice company and Bridge Day vendor. A portion of their sales will support our Food & Ag Center fundraiser, helping us create more access to fresh, locally grown food in our community.

Fall is in full swing in the farm market! We’ve got potted mums, funny pumpkins, leafy greens, apple c***r, winter squash and all sorts of apples! Stop in this weekend and celebrate the season. 🍂🍁

This year, Brian has been building out our microgreens setup, bringing fresh, nutrient-dense greens to the market and helping us expand what we can grow throughout the year.🌱

Microgreens are harvested young, usually within a few weeks of germination. At this stage, they can be particularly nutrient-dense, with concentrated levels of vitamins, minerals, and other beneficial plant compounds.

We’re growing several varieties, and you can find them in the market! They’re great on salads, sandwiches, bowls, eggs, or just about anything that could use a little extra freshness. ☀️

🌱 Meet Jenni, one of our New Roots community gardeners! 🌻

Jenni has been growing in the New Roots Community Garden since 2021, cultivating crops like tomatoes and massive sunflowers and finding plenty of reasons to love getting her hands in the soil.

Here’s why she keeps coming back:

“Growing food (and flowers!) is one of the most rewarding parts of my life. Nothing makes me feel richer (and more connected to the earth!) than strolling outside and harvesting something to eat that I (along with the sun! And soil! And pollinators! And rain! Credit where it’s due!) grew and nourished from a tiny seed. Gardening is great exercise, it’s a mood booster, it’s good eatin’, plus every little morsel you grow yourself is a tiny opt out of the capitalist hellscape of our nation’s corporate food system. Two thumbs up, would recommend. ☀️🌱”

Thanksgiving Turkey Preorders are OPEN! 🦃

Bring a local turkey to your table this Thanksgiving! Our fresh, pasture-raised turkeys from Middle Mountain Farmstead range from 12–15 lbs., and are $6.50/lb. A $65 deposit reserves your turkey, with pickup on Tuesday, November 24 from 9 AM–6:30 PM at New Roots. Turkeys include giblets (neck + liver). Quantities are limited. Come grow with us!

Our New Roots 4-H Club has been busy this year learning, growing, and spending time together on the farm. Recently, we harvested from our garden and put our produce to good use with a pizza party!

At our September meeting, members will elect 4-Hers to leadership positions within the club. We’ll continue meeting monthly through the winter, with opportunities for members to learn new skills, take on leadership roles, and explore their interests in agriculture.

Cover crops are one of the most powerful tools we can use to build healthier soil, manage weeds, disrupt pests, and protect our fields.

Join us at the Farm on Saturday, September 12 for Undercover Cropping, a hands-on mini-conference led by Ian Zeglin of Greenacres Foundation.

Ian will share practical, field-tested strategies for using cover crops effectively, with plenty of opportunity to get out in the field and learn.
