Foster Parents can be unprepared for a newly placed child in terms of having the right size or quantity of clothing and equipment required for a particular child. Often children arrive in their new foster home with only the clothes on their back. This frequently places a financial hardship on the Foster Family to provide for the immediate clothing needs of children.

🎄✨ CHRISTMAS IN JULY HYGIENE DRIVE ✨🎄

Looking for a meaningful way to make a difference this summer?

The Oakland County Foster Closet is inviting businesses, community groups, churches, organizations, families, and individuals to participate in our **Christmas in July Hygiene Drive**!

From **July 1st through July 31st**, participants will collect much-needed hygiene items that help children and families feel confident, cared for, and supported. These everyday essentials are some of our most requested items and are often overlooked by traditional donation drives.

🎁 Want to participate?
Simply **message our page with your email address**, and we'll send you everything you need to get started, including the drive information and collection list.

📅 Collection Period: July 1 – July 31
📍 Donations can be dropped off anytime after the drive concludes.

Together, we can turn a simple act of giving into hope, dignity, and comfort for local children and families in need.

🏕️ FREE Overnight Summer Camp with Royal Family Kids Camp
📅 July 25–29
👧🧒 Ages 6–11 Only
❤️ For Foster and Adopted Children

Royal Family Kids Camp is so much more than a week of summer fun. Their camp provides children with a safe and supportive environment where they can build healthy relationships, strengthen resilience and self-esteem, experience hope, healing, and belonging, and create positive memories that can last a lifetime.

Their program is grounded in Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®), a trauma-informed approach designed to meet the unique needs of children who have experienced adversity, helping them feel safe, connected, and valued.

⏰ Registration must be completed by the END OF THE DAY WEDNESDAY, so there is a very small window to apply.

If you are interested and can complete registration by Wednesday, please send a message to our page and we will send you the registration link.

Spots are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

OCFC friends and family, I have an unusual request. I rarely do pick-ups but I had a family needing a bunkbed. I went to pick it up and without realizing it, I damaged the donors awning. I have had a horrible time trying to find someone, I had 2 not even follow through. Is there anyone here that can look at the awning (Redford) and see if they can fix it or replace it? Hello OCFC friends and families — we need your help! Our shelves are getting low on some very important items for the kiddos we serve, and we are hoping our amazing community can step in once again 💛

Urgently Needed Items:
🧸 Baby dolls
🚗 Remote control vehicles
🎲 Board games
🎨 Crafts
🧱 Legos
☀️ Summer fun items (outdoor toys, bubbles, chalk, water toys, etc.)
👶 Baby wipes
💙 5T/6T Pull-Ups (a BIG need right now!)

These items may seem simple, but to a child in need, they bring comfort, joy, dignity, and a chance to just be a kid.

We held our 3rd Annual Volunteer Appreciation luncheon on April 25 at Peterlins in Farmington Hills. We had a great turnout. Robyn did an amazing job organizing the event. I wanted to make sure that every volunteer could heat my speech so I recorded it and added it to this post. I truly appreciate the volunteers because they are the heartbeat of this organization.
