I would like to thank all of those who have donated to the food drive for Jamaica. The support we’ve gotten for this is amazing. For those who would still like to donate, you still have time. Thank you all so much.

Falmouth Professional Firefighters is collecting non-perishable food donations to support communities in Jamaica impacted by Hurricane Melissa. This cause is especially close to our hearts—Firefighter Julian Speare is from Jamaica, and his family is among those affected.

If you are able to help, please drop off donations at:

Falmouth Fire-EMS Headquarters
8 Bucknam Rd., Falmouth

Every contribution—big or small—makes a meaningful difference. Thank you for supporting those in need.

Everyone always talks about the Brotherhood/Sisterhood in the Fire Service. What does that actually mean? It’s a lot more than a t-shirt or a sticker on your car. It’s about showing up and being there when needed.

One of our members recently fell on a hard time. The members of Falmouth Fire-EMS and Local 5306 jumped into action to help. That’s what we do everyday for the public, and that’s what we do for each other. Money was raised, support was given, and most of all we showed that they belong to a larger family. Very proud of the actions of our brothers and sisters, whether there’s a union patch on your arm or not.

Get well soon big guy!

Congratulations to our very own FF Borbon and FF Lewis who both graduated from the Fire Science program at SMCC today. Both Mason and Molly continue a long line of Live-in students who go on to take fulltime Fire/EMS positions. Mason and Molly are two of the four current fulltime staff and 5306 members that came up through Falmouth's own Live-in Program.

Speaking of Live-in Student graduates, we wish a very fond farewell to Senior Live-in Student Paquette who also graduates today and has already started her new career with Waterville Fire-Rescue. We are going to miss you Little Sis! Now you can bum off someone else's phone plan....

ON we recognize the women who serve with us to protect our community.

In an interview with the San Francisco Bay Times, Fire Chief Jeanine Nicholson had this to say to women looking to join the fire service: “Don’t doubt yourself. Be prepared physically, psychologically and mentally. You must believe in yourself and support each other.”

Well, our cadre of women Fire and EMS professionals are some of the best Firefighters and EMS providers we have, they are a vital and intricate part of our organization and we couldn’t do what we do without them.
