We're excited to share that NVFS was recently featured on DMV Spotlight with Barbara Britt!

Amy Wilker, director of Child and Family Wellbeing Services at NVFS, joined the program to discuss the life-changing impact of our Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program and the vital role volunteers play in advocating for children involved in the foster care and court systems.

Every child deserves a caring adult in their corner, and CASA volunteers help ensure their voices are heard when it matters most.

💙

This spring, members of the NoVA Social Club spent the morning reading stories, making crafts, and bringing smiles to children at our Head Start Child Development Center. One volunteer even returned to the program as an Arlington Head Start graduate—a full-circle reminder of the lasting impact of community support.

For Larry Greene, volunteering is about making a direct impact.

“I wanted to give back in a way that put me in the field—not just behind a computer,” Larry shares. “Volunteering as a Food Rescue Driver gives me a way to show up consistently, stay active, and contribute in a real, tangible way.”

As a Food Rescue Driver with NVFS' Hunger Resource Center, Larry helps recover food from local partners and deliver it to families facing food insecurity. His dedication helps ensure good food reaches neighbors who need it most.

Thank you, Larry, for helping strengthen our community one delivery at a time! 💙
