All the network shark programming may be over, but shark research carries on! Marine Conservation Science Institute recently tagged a massive, mature female shortfin mako shark off the coast of Southern California and we are auctioning off naming rights. Here is your chance to name one of our Mega Makos that is being tracked in real time on our app, Expedition White Shark. This shark was satellite tagged by Keith Poe off the coast of Southern California on July 19th. Our satellite tags are attached to the dorsal fin and send real time tracking data via satellite allowing us to track these sharks for anywhere from months to years! This tracking data allows us to better understand the movement patterns of mature female mako sharks. All of this information is important in the management and conservation of this endangered species. All proceeds are tax deductible in US taxes using itemized deductions and will help support MCSI shark research and conservation efforts. This is a great opportunity to get involved in shark conservation! You can view the auction to name this tagged Mega Mako shark until August 10 at https://www.ebay.com/itm/266358258624?_trksid=p2471758.m4704.
