Adopt a Hwy was today, Tues Sept 1st - we removed 179.84 lbs (11 bags + misc) - Thank you Yvonne, Robin, Colby, and Diane for continuing to make this stretch of Hwy 76 litter free.

Unfortunately, we have become accustomed to seeing roadside litter, but we might not always be aware of the unique issues it brings to rural areas. This type of litter not only spoils the aesthetic of our beautiful natural environment, but it also has wider emotional, environmental and financial impacts on the local communities and wildlife that are burdened with it.

Litter is not something we want to greet visitors with, but it is something that they will remember. Whilst littering has an obvious impact on the environment and wildlife, many fail to see the economic and emotional impact it has on small rural areas. These are places that thrive due to toursits who come for the beautiful natural scenery, and people who come and make a home here for the same reasons. By spoiling the aesthics by littering, people are ruining one of the key reasons that people come.

If you love Fallbrook, North County, then lets take this seriously and change the way you dispose of litter. We are out weekly removing the litter and we would like to have your support to keep moving forward - supplies are needed as well as monetary donations. We love Fallbrook - hopefully you do too! Have you ever asked yourself the question, "Why do nonprofits exist and what would it look like if they didnt?" Well, nonprofits play a very important role in 'all' societies and 'all' communities. They provide a way for people to work together for the common good, transforming shared beliefs and hopes into action.
America’s nonprofit organizations serve and strengthen communities in ways that the private sector does not.
Non-profits are seen as a major vehicle for social change, in many cases the primary vehicle. Non-profits end up becoming part of a personal portfolio, a calling card, and a source of personal reputation, both as a hobby and as a passion. Many people will talk about their non-profits more than their actual line of work. Its about their mission - their cause - and filling that VOID that exists in every town whether its unincorporated or not.
So, my point in this statement is to give to your local nonprofit so that the work they do can continue!
