Did You Know ?
- Halloween produces massive amounts of single-use textile, plastic, and food waste every year due to disposable costumes, decorations, and discarded pumpkins.

- 1 billion pounds: The weight of pumpkins discarded by Americans each year.

- 18,000 tons: The amount of methane-producing pumpkin waste sent to landfills annually and It takes around 20 years for a pumpkin to decompose in landfill.

- 600 million pounds: The amount of candy purchased for the holiday, heavily packaged in multi-layered, unrecyclable plastic wrappers that frequently become neighborhood or waterway litter

Unlike the sewer system which treats water, any litter that goes into the storm drain system can go untreated into our creeks, rivers, bays, and ocean. So, remember THINK before you THROW !!
