πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Community Resource Spotlight: TBI Warrior Foundation

VFW Post 4676 had the opportunity to welcome representatives from the TBI Warrior Foundation during our General Meeting and learn more about the work they are doing for veterans, families, caregivers, and others living with brain injuries.

The TBI Warrior Foundation works to improve quality of life through programs focused on rehabilitation and vocational counseling, access to care, caregiver support, education, and community integration.

Their story is also deeply rooted in the veteran community. The Foundation grew from the experiences of retired Army SFC Victor L. Medina, a combat-wounded Purple Heart recipient who sustained a traumatic brain injury while serving in Iraq, and Dr. Roxana E. Delgado, his wife, advocate, and caregiver.

We appreciate the TBI Warrior Foundation taking the time to visit VFW Post 4676 and share their mission with our members.

Organizations like this are important resources for our veteran community, and we encourage our members, families, and community supporters to learn more about the services they provide.

πŸ’œ Purple Heart Day | Honoring Courage, Sacrifice & Freedom πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Today, on Purple Heart Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who were wounded or gave their lives in service to our Nation.

At the TBI Warrior Foundation, we are privileged to stand alongside leaders who understand the true meaning of service and sacrifice. Our leadership team, together with our strong partners at Military Order of the Purple Heart, San Antonio 1836 Department of Texas Military Order of Purple Heart, represents the courage, commitment, and selfless service that paid for our freedom.

Freedom was never free. It was purchased through sacrifice, defended through courage, and preserved by generations of Americans willing to put our Nation and one another before themselves.

To every Purple Heart recipient, to the families who have carried the weight of that sacrifice, and to those whose names and stories we will never forget: we honor you, we thank you, and we remember.

πŸ’œ All gave some. Some gave all. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

We are incredibly honored to share that TBI Warrior Foundation and our President & Founder, Victor Medina, MRC, CRC, were recognized by San Antonio Independent Living Services with the Community Support Award during the 36th Annual Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Celebration.

This recognition came as a complete surprise and serves as a powerful reminder that the work of improving the lives of individuals living with brain injuries and other disabilities is making a meaningful impact in our community.

For more than 40 years, SAILS has been a champion for independent living, accessibility, and equal opportunity for individuals with disabilities throughout South Texas. To be recognized by an organization that has dedicated decades to advancing inclusion and independence for those with disabilities is an incredible honor.

This award belongs to our entire TBI Warrior Foundation team. It reflects the dedication of our Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, donors, healthcare partners, community organizations, and the countless individuals and families who place their trust in us every day.

Together, we work to ensure that Veterans, children, and non-veterans living with traumatic brain injuries have access to rehabilitation counseling, care coordination, caregiver support, adaptive equipment, education, and the resources they need to live with dignity and independence.

We extend our sincere gratitude to SAILS for this recognition and for their continued leadership in advocating for individuals with disabilities. We are proud to stand alongside organizations that share the belief that every person deserves the opportunity to participate fully in their community.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. This recognition inspires us to continue expanding access to care and strengthening our mission of improving the quality of life for individuals living with brain injuries and their families.

Today, we want to express our deepest gratitude to Rosalba and Robert Saenz for coordinating and opening the doors of their beautiful Hill Country home at the ranch, in support of the TBI Warrior Foundation fundraiser.

Rosalba, our Vice Chair of the Board, and Robert are truly one of a kind. They have poured their heart and resources to helping raise awareness and provide direct support to beneficiaries. Their commitment to serving others has spanned a lifetime. After dedicating their careers to serving our nation, they continue to give selflessly in retirement, working tirelessly to ensure that those in need receive the support, care, and resources they deserve.

Their generosity, leadership, and unwavering dedication to our mission inspire all of us. Hosting this event was yet another example of the incredible impact they make behind the scenes and in our community every day.

On behalf of the entire TBI Warrior Foundation family, thank you, Rosalba and Robert, for your kindness, your hospitality, and your hearts for service. We are honored to serve alongside you.
