🚑 Bringing EMS to the Classroom!

Yesterday, Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps members Dan, Mary, and Sebastian visited Fair Lawn High School to show students a glance at what we do!

Our members demonstrated some of the lifesaving skills we use in the field and provided students with a tour of one of our Special Operations trucks.

Thank you to the students and Ms. Smith for having us! FLVAC always enjoy sharing our knowledge and inspiring the next generation of first responders.

After 40 years of dedicated service as a volunteer EMT and former Chief of the Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Gail Cebular has spent decades helping others and caring for her community. Now, Gail is the one who needs our help.

Gail is currently in need of a kidney transplant and is searching for a living kidney donor with a B+ blood type. A kidney donation could give Gail more time to continue making memories with her family, friends, and the community she has devoted so much of her life to serving.

For 40 years, Gail answered the call when others needed help. Today, we are asking our community to answer the call for Gail.

If you or someone you know may be a potential donor, please consider learning more about living kidney donation and sharing Gail’s story. Even if you are not able to donate, sharing this post could help it reach the person who can.

You never know who around you may be able to help give Gail the gift of more time. ❤️

Here is how FLVAC stayed busy in September! How many calls do you think FLVAC will have in October?

Last night, FLVAC had the incredible opportunity to welcome a CPR survivor and his wife who came to share their story and meet the crew who provided lifesaving care when he needed it most.

Crew members Hareesh, Jazmin, Lee, and Tal were able to successfully resuscitate Arad.

It was a meaningful opportunity for our members to hear Arad’s story and see firsthand the impact that CPR and the care provided by our crews can have.

Today marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, a day that forever changed our nation and left an impact that continues to be felt 25 years later.

Today, we remember the thousands of innocent lives lost and honor the brave first responders who ran toward danger, putting their own lives at risk to help others. Fair Lawn Rescue Squad, Fair Lawn Fire Company 2, and Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps were among those who answered the call with courage, compassion, and selflessness.

25 years later, we continue to carry their memories with us, honor the sacrifices made that day, and remember the heroes who showed extraordinary courage in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

Today, we pause to reflect on their courage, honor their legacy, and ensure that their stories are never forgotten.
