Fair Lawn Amateur Radio Club - FLARC This is the "official" page of the Fair Lawn Amateur Radio Club. Thus, this group is one of the oldest radio organizations in Northern New Jersey.

Originally founded in 1956 as the Fair Lawn Radio Club, it was later reorganized in the spring of 1960 and became the Fair Lawn Amateur Radio Club. The organization is a general interest radio organization; but the Fair Lawn Amateur Radio Club (FLARC), during its more than a half century history, has always been dedicated to helping our community and our country when needed in times of crisis. In the early days it was Civil Defense and RACES - today it is OEM and AREC as well as RACES. The Fair Lawn Amateur Radio Club organization can be considered part of the Borough's available emergency resources. Many of our members are also RACES (Radio Amateur Civilian Emergency Service) members and CERT members (Community Emergency Response Team).

The Fair Lawn Amateur Radio Club will be participating in the International Lighthouse Lightship Weekend (ILLW) from the Stony Point Lighthouse in Rockland County, NY on Saturday 8/15 & Sunday 8/16. We will also be celebrating the 200th Anniversary of the Stony Point Lighthouse, the oldest lighthouse on the Hudson River. Our callsign for the event will be W2L and we will be working voice, CW & FT-8. The event will be 9AM-5PM on Saturday & Noon-5PM on Sunday. Visitors during those times are welcome. W2L will be valid for ILLW, ARLHS, POTA & WCA. Those references are listed on the bottom of the graphic. We hope to get you in the log !

The Fair Lawn Amateur Radio Club will be participating in ARRL Field Day on Saturday 6/27 starting at 2PM. We will be set up at our Clubhouse at the Fair Lawn Recreation Center, 10-10 20th Street and will be operating on the radio making contacts with other Field Day stations around the world. The public is invited to visit our clubhouse from 2-6PM on Saturday and see what Amateur Radio and our club is all about !
