Join us for a double tribute to one of our distinguished youth leaders, Felipe Canton as we celebrate his birthday and for graduating both high school and first pre- college entry! Felipe made his mark as a young leader volunteering at first at EHCC as assistant to ESL teachers translating for our Spanish adult students and helping with immigration clinics in two shelters. His dedication, teamwork ethics and more, gave him the merit and edge to becoming youth leader assisting in overseeing a cohort of 35 youths and Hosting EHCC’s youth Podcast. Felipe, we cannot believe that its already been closed to 2 years since you joined the EHCC family! We are so very proud of you and appreciate you. As the Bible says: let no one minimize your potential just because you are a youth. You are amazing ! We cannot wait to see you finish college soon and attain your dream of becoming a lawyer. GIVE and it will turn unto you a thousandfold Although you should not expect anything in return. The universe does it automatically.
This morning, the EHCC provided free bottles of water and snacks at a community fun fair event to 58 children. 4 hours later, out of the blue, EHCC received 400 bottles of water donation and two packs of soft drinks.
We hope this encourages folks to practice generosity as it always returns back to you. Thank you Mr. , Mr. - Gurudwara Sikh Sangat Society Sangat of Everett for this generous donation. Also, much gratitude to Councilor at Large for connecting the center as recipient of this generous donation of these bottles of water which will benefit 400 more residents at our upcoming outreach events.

🚨State Legislature Passes My Early Literacy Bill🚨

This is a pivotal moment for children across our state as we advance the critical legislation I filed to ensure every student gains essential literacy skills. We all recognize that teaching our kids to read and write is one of the most fundamental responsibilities we have, yet far too many students are still falling short of basic literacy benchmarks.

As co-chair of the conference committee, I was proud to collaborate with many educators to craft evidence based policies that will strengthen early literacy instruction and set our students on a path to lifelong success. I want to express my gratitude to Senate President Karen E. Spilka, my fellow conferees, my team, especially my Chief of Staff, Christie Getto Young, the educators, and the committed advocates whose dedication helped carry this important policy across the finish line.

Congratulations to Team Colombia and to our Colombian friends and youths!
Colombia last night, defeated Uzbekistan 3-1 in their opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, starting their campaign strong. The victory was marked by goals from Daniel Munoz, Luis Diaz, and Jaminton Campaz, and it has put Colombia at the top of Group K following the first round of fixtures. The match showcased Colombia's strong performance, and coach Nestor Lorenzo praised the team's effort despite the spirited opposition.

It was a Memorable Experience of Joy, Unity, and Incredible Fun! The resilience of Team Haiti 🇭🇹 ❤️The positive energy of Team Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 ❤️turned the World Cup in Boston not just a competitive game but to a pure friendly match atmosphere. Our world needs more of this! ❤️
