What a week!! From National Parks to National Monuments, from the world's largest reptile zoo to the Nation's #1 Rated Zoo, the sights & sounds of the western plains, including animals present & past, to the scenic, picture perfect, RimRock camp in the Black Hills, did not disappoint!!
Parents: Thank you for trusting us and sharing your scouts with us over these past 9 days. We hope your evening was full of stories, pictures, & shared memories of a lifetime.
First Time Big Trip Adults: Thank you for stepping up and filling the roles you were selected for. Each of you absolutely nailed it with flawless ex*****on!
Adult Volunteers: THANK YOU for continuing the rich 399 legacy! It's no small ask to give a week of vacation and your time pouring into the lives of each and every scout in attendance. It's because of you that 399 is just "different". We're not just a troop, not just 3 independent units operating as 1, we're a close knit family unlike any other. Each of you was one small piece of a big puzzle, and what a beautiful puzzle it was to watch come together.
Adult Volunteer Spouses & Family: Thank you for your sacrifice & support these past 9 days and many more leading up to departure. You can have your scout dad back now... although he may be stinky, tired, grumpy, & emitting foul odors! (You've been warned!)
Scouts: Thank you for representing 399 with the utmost honor! In public, and at camp, you made us adults proud to be wearing the 399 logo. You operated as patrols, coming together to form one team, that accomplished great things. If we got a dollar from every stranger that pulled an adult volunteer aside to compliment you, your behavior, or your respect... we would be well on our way to funding the next big trip. You make it easy for us adults to do what we do.
Strangers often ask how in the world we do what we do, and how we pull off such an awesome trip time after time, and the answer is always YOU.
If you're reading this post, you're likely a contribution to the 399 family, big or small. We're different because we care... because those before us have paved the path of success in a way that generation after generation can keep pushing forward and extending that path.
Zero injuries (minus 1 bandaid for the SM), zero behavior issues, zero major headcount anomalies, 7 nights, 8 days, 7 states, and 1 AWESOME TRIP!
