Vanderburgh Co. 4-H Program 4-H Youth Development provides hands-on opportunities for Indiana youth to build valuable life skills

Thank you for choosing to be involved in the Indiana 4-H Youth Development program either as a youth participant or as an adult 4-H volunteer. The 4-H Youth Development program provides real life opportunities for more than 160,000 Indiana youth who participate in a variety of subject matter/project areas and events designed to develop life skills. Nearly 19,000 adult 4-H volunteers assist Purdue

Extension staff to make 4-H programs possible. Families can learn more about the statewide 4-H Youth Development Program at www.JoinIndiana4-H.Org and are encouraged to connect with their local Purdue Extension Office to learn more about the 4-H Youth Development Program in your county.

Get creative and show off your coloring skills for the 2026 Vanderburgh County Fair! 🌟

• 5 & Under
• 6–10 Years Old

✨ A People’s Choice Winner in each category will be selected during Fair Week by donation voting in the Expo Hall

What difference has 4-H made in your life? 4-H has made a lasting impact on my life. It has taught me responsibility when taking care of my animals. 4-H has taught me leadership by mentoring younger individuals. Lastly being in 4-H has created many life long friendships that I will carry with me for the rest of my life!

Future Plans: Attend Purdue University to study pharmaceutical science and then apply to med school.
What difference has 4-H made in your life? 4-H has allowed me to try new things and learn new skills. It has also taught me the importance of leadership and service. 4-H gave me the confidence to pursue leadership roles in academics and I plan to continue my involvement in community when I move to the Purdue campus.

🤩Our 4-H Summer Interns started in our office today! 🤩
We are excited to welcome Brody Riggs and Natalie Nenneker to our staff this year. Brody was a 10 Year Member in Vanderburgh County and Natalie joins us from Posey County. We are so excited to have them working with us this summer. Make sure to say Hi when you see them! They will be working with the 4-H members through camp, contests and many Fair events.
We wanted to get to know them a bit better so we asked a couple of questions. Read on for their answers!

What school are you currently attending and what are you studying?
🟣Natalie- I am going to Purdue University studying Sustainable Food and Farming Systems.
🟢Brody- I go to University of Evansville and am studying Accounting.

What are your future plans?
🟣Natalie- I'm not 100% sure I am hoping to get some kind of career in agriculture.
🟢Brody- Graduate college, get a good job and I'm not sure from there.

What are you most excited about this summer working as a summer intern?
🟣Natalie- I am excited about getting to work with kids and teaching them about agriculture. I think it will be a lot of fun!
🟢Brody- Getting to learn the behind-the-scenes of everything. I know all of the upfront of the fair but I would like to see the behind-the-scenes.

What is your favorite food?
🟣Natalie- Peanut Butter 🥜
🟢Brody- Meat Lovers Pizza 🍕

What is your favorite animal?
🟣Natalie- Deer. I really like deer hunting! 🦌
🟢Brody- Cat. It's the only pet I've ever had. 🐱
