🐾 MYTH vs. FACT — Think You Know What a Wagging Tail Means?

Most people believe a wagging tail = a happy dog… but that’s not always true. 👀

✅ FACT: A wagging tail simply means a dog is emotionally aroused — and that can include happiness, nervousness, fear, frustration, or even a warning sign before aggression.

🐶 The real story is told by the whole body:
✨ Relaxed body + loose wag = friendly, happy pup
⚠️ Stiff body + high, rigid wag = proceed with caution
😟 Tail tucked low (even if wagging) = fear or uncertainty

👉 Here’s why it matters:
Many dog bites happen because people assume a wagging tail means “Come pet me!” — when the dog is actually uncomfortable or stressed.

💡 Takeaway: Always read the entire dog, not just the tail. It could make all the difference in keeping both people and pets safe!

Hi, I’m Bella! 🐶💖

A sweet Shih Tzu girl looking for my very special furever mom.
I’m the definition of a loyal little companion—I love following my person around, ride great in the car, and walk nicely on a leash. At home, I’m a perfect lady (no crate needed!) and will patiently wait for you by the door until you return. I’m about 10 years young, on a healthy weight‑loss journey, and feeling good! I do need some daily care, including eye drops (I’m super patient!) and a liver supplement.

💙 Important update about my health:
I was recently diagnosed with Cushing’s disease, so I’ll need a dedicated adopter who can help me stay healthy. This means:

Daily medication (about $250/month)
A low-fat, low-sodium, high-protein diet to support my weight and overall health

I may need a little extra care, but I promise I’ll give you a whole lot of love in return.

I’d do best as the only dog because I love being the queen of the castle 👑, but I’m cat‑approved and pretty quiet (just a little snoring now and then 😴). I adore head rubs… kisses, not so much 😉

Could you be the special someone to give me the love and care I deserve?

Love,
Bella Wella 💖

✅ Bella is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm-negative, and on monthly prevention. Her adoption donation is $200, which helps cover all the care she has received.

Today I sat in a vet’s office with what felt like nothing more than skin and bones. Her tiny body was so cold it didn’t even register on the thermometer. Her gums and tongue were completely white—signs of a life that had been slipping away for far too long.

As I sat there, I couldn’t stop wondering… how long had she been out there alone? Did she belong to someone once? Did anyone ever love her?

I had already started imagining bringing her home, wrapping her in blankets, feeding her slowly, helping her heal. I could see it so clearly—what a beautiful, vibrant dog she would become once she was healthy again.

But that wasn’t the ending she got.

She was too far gone. The anemia had already taken too much. There was no saving her.

After she passed, the vet examined her more closely. She was around four years old. She had been on her own for weeks without food. And heartbreakingly… she had been used for breeding.

Used. Not loved. Not cared for. Just used.

A Forever Home Animal Rescue would like to thank the two kind women who rescued her and brought her to us. She was rushed to Purrfect Paws & Claws Veterinary Hospital, where Dr. Valdes and her staff were incredibly compassionate and moved quickly to care for her.

We named her Blue.

She was surrounded by love during the last hour of her life.

This is the reality of breeding for profit when there is no compassion or accountability. Dogs are treated like machines—valued only for what they can produce, discarded when they no longer serve a purpose. Overbred, neglected, starved, and abandoned when they are no longer “useful.”

They don’t get soft beds. They don’t get full bowls. They don’t get to just be dogs.

We know there are responsible breeders who care deeply for their animals, provide proper medical care, and ensure their dogs are never treated as disposable. This is not about them. This is about the ones who neglect, exploit, and discard lives for profit—those are the practices that must end.

We are brokenhearted. This was a horrible day. She deserved so much more.

Please, choose adoption. Support ethical rescues. Speak out against irresponsible breeding.

For Blue. 💔

A Forever Home Animal Rescue is reaching out to find an experienced foster for Loki, a four year old Jack Russell mix who has been with us for over two years. This is an incredible opportunity to make a difference in the life of a dog who truly needs a special kind of care and love.

Loki has remained at our rescue longer than most because he can be unpredictable and will bite. This behavior has made it difficult for him to find a permanent home. However, we believe that with the right foster, Loki can learn to manage his behavior and thrive.

Loki is a handsome and neat little dog. He loves toys and has an adorable habit of taking a toy out of the toy box, playing with it, and then putting it back before selecting another toy. His short legs, beautiful markings, and freckles add to his charm. Loki tends to bark at other dogs, so he would be best suited as an only pet.

Loki needs a foster who can provide him with a break from the rescue environment and work with him on managing his behavior. We are looking for someone who is experienced with dogs that have special behavioral needs and can provide a loving, structured environment for Loki.

If you're interested in meeting Loki and think you might be the right match to foster him, please make an appointment by calling Lori at 407-221-1855. This ensures that someone experienced with Loki will be available to introduce you to him.

Please remember that Loki is unpredictable and may bite. It is important that potential fosters are aware of this and prepared to work with Loki patiently and safely.

This is a unique opportunity to help a dog in need and make a significant impact on his life. We hope to find someone who can see past Loki’s challenges and help him become the wonderful companion we know he can be. Thank you for considering opening your heart and home to Loki.
