Blue Ridge Honor Flight 🇺🇸 Serving those who served
✈️ Flying Veterans to Washington, DC
🗽 Honoring their service & sacrifice
📍 North Carolina hub
https://www.blueridgehonorflight.com

What started as a dream in 2005, HonorAir and the National Honor Flight programs have been responsible for flying over 150,000 WWII veterans to our nation's capitol to experience their memorial. In the spring of 2011, the last Western North Carolina HonorAir flight returned home to Asheville Airport. Since then, we have continued to advocate for veterans and work with other states in developing their own Honor Flight programs in conjunction with the Honor Flight network. On September 24, 2016, HonorAir becomes Blue Ridge Honor Flight and begins the next phase of its mission to bring all veterans to their own memorials in Washington DC.

🇺🇸❤️A WELCOME HOME THEY WON'T SOON
FORGET!❤️🇺🇸
Our veterans were welcomed home with an extra-special dose of kindness from some incredible students at a local high school in Washington DC!

Their thoughtful gesture was a beautiful reminder that gratitude has no age limit and that the impact of honoring those who served reaches far beyond words.

We'd like to extend our heartfelt ☺️🤍🩵THANK YOU to these wonderful students for taking the time to show our veterans the appreciation they so deeply deserve, and to the teachers who accompanied them and helped make this moment possible. Your kindness made an already meaningful Welcome Home even more special!
It's new additions like this that remind us what Blue Ridge Honor Flight is all about: honoring our heroes, bringing generations together, and making sure our veterans know their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.🎖️🪖

You’ll recognize them by their yellow polo shirts. You’ll remember them for their kindness. 💛

Our Guardians walk beside our Veterans, offering care, encouragement, and steady support throughout their Honor Flight. Those yellow shirts represent a nation’s gratitude and faithful support for our heroes.

To every Guardian who gives their time and heart—thank you for making these journeys unforgettable. 🇺🇸 Swipe through and leave a 💛 to thank our Guardians!

Blue Ridge Honor Flight’s 20th anniversary. A day full of stories. Full of real emotion. What a privilege it was to experience it with this team on this momentous occasion of commemorating 20 years of Honor Flights. Thank you to every Veteran, Guardian, and volunteer that made this possible.

A few pictures about today!
We are on our way to Arlington. Out of respect for all and most importantly the fallen, we will not be going live at Arlington but will post some still shots.
(There are many more pictures this is simply a sampling!)
