We are nearing the end of the week, and as you may recall, we recently welcomed a litter of puppies into our rescue. While they are all doing well in their foster homes, we still have several dogs waiting for their forever homes. One of these dogs is Pongo, and we would like to provide a brief update on his status. Pongo is now a year old and remains a happy and energetic boy. He is an Australian Shepherd mix, weighing around 40 pounds. When Pongo first arrived at the rescue, he had a fractured leg, but he has since made a full recovery and enjoys running around the backyard. Although Pongo is deaf, he is highly intelligent and responds well to hand signals. He has also learned various fun tricks and is house-trained. Pongo loves playing with his toys and gets along exceptionally well with other dogs and people. He is also comfortable traveling in cars. However, please note that Pongo cannot be kept in a wire crate due to anxiety issues. He is currently using an impact dog crate, which suits him better. When adopting Pongo, please consider investing in a similar crate or a more heavy-duty alternative. As a reminder, our dogs are placed in private foster homes throughout Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina. We do not operate a facility, and our dogs are not boarded. To initiate the adoption process, please visit our website at www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out the application form. Once we receive and review your application, we will contact you to discuss further steps, which may include a meet-and-greet and a 7-14 day trial period. We are excited to find Pongo the perfect forever home, where he will bring joy and companionship to a deserving family.
