Residing Hope

Residing Hope Residing Hope, formerly known as the Florida United Methodist Children's Home, has been caring for abused, abandoned, and neglected children since 1908.

Children come to us because of sexual abuse, other physical abuse, abandonment or because of family breakdown due to divorce, drug abuse, illness, death of a parent or other traumatic issues being experienced by the child. There may be neglect, or conflicts that have made normal family life impossible. A majority of referrals now come from pastors, family, schools, courts or other state placing agencies. Each child is evaluated to see if the program of the Home can be of help.

We’re excited and a little sad as we get ready to celebrate Madeline, our wonderful Director of Pastoral Care, at her going away party! Madeline’s kindness and support has touched so many lives, especially the youth in our Spiritual Life Program. It was an awesome day at our Madison Youth Ranch as youth groups from Mt. Carmel UMC in High Springs, as well as Deer Lake and Killearn Methodist Churches in Tallahassee turned out for our first Youth Day Of Hope. They participated in multiple projects at The Ranch, and spent some time socializing and playing games with our youth. Our next Youth Day of Hope is scheduled for July 22 on our Enterprise campus.
