Residing Hope

Residing Hope Residing Hope, formerly known as the Florida United Methodist Children's Home, has been caring for abused, abandoned, and neglected children since 1908.

Children come to us because of sexual abuse, other physical abuse, abandonment or because of family breakdown due to divorce, drug abuse, illness, death of a parent or other traumatic issues being experienced by the child. There may be neglect, or conflicts that have made normal family life impossible. A majority of referrals now come from pastors, family, schools, courts or other state placing agencies. Each child is evaluated to see if the program of the Home can be of help.

A heartfelt thank you to Leon Lodge #5 for their generous gift of $1,500 to fund piano lessons for the remainder of the year at our Madison Youth Ranch!

These lessons provide our youth with so much more than an opportunity to learn music. They build confidence, encourage creativity, and give our young people a wonderful way to share their talents with others. Some have even had the opportunity to play during Sunday services, an experience that gives them a tremendous sense of accomplishment and pride.

Rev. Brian, our Director of Church Relations, was at Steinhatchee United Methodist Church to recognize them for being one of the Top 25 Per Capita Giving churches in 2025. He's pictured with Joyce Gatlin, the LCR (local church representative) for Steinhatchee UMC.
