TAT Nonprofit TAT stands committed to educate, equip, empower and mobilize members of key industries and agencies to combat human trafficking. Don't be fooled. Thank you!

Guidelines for this page:
We are a non-profit fighting human trafficking through the transportation industry. This is not a page for recruiting drivers to your company. This is not a page to sell products. We do not tolerate cursing, racist or s*xist comments or cruelty to different people groups. We will ban people who consistently engage in these types of posts. We are not a missing site, but yo

u can post a missing flier if you would like. We ask that you refrain from using a carriers name or a travel plazas name on our public page. If you have something to report, call the hotline 1-888-3737-888 and let them know what you suspect. Also, there are many spammer accounts who come on this page. If any account sends you personal messages or post on your page claiming to be from TAT, they are lying. We would not contact you this way. Report those accounts as spam and block them. It has been reported they ask for money and steal from accounts.

The first day of the international soccer tournament this summer is TODAY. Did you already catch the first game?

Remember that with events such as major sporting events comes an increased concentration of people, which can lead to an increase in human trafficking activity, largely resulting from location-specific spikes in demand for commercial s*x and cheap labor.

By knowing the signs, you can make a difference.

Bottom line: traffickers exploit vulnerabilities.

Traffickers will target anyone for forced s*x and/or labor, but just like race, age, immigration status, etc. can be vulnerabilities which make certain populations more susceptible to be targeted, being a part of the LGBTQ+ community can also potentially be a risk factor.

Here are the specific vulnerabilities and risk factors within the LGBTQ+ community.

Remember ⚠️ The more we understand the realities of human trafficking, the better we combat it, together!

Have you or someone you know made a call on behalf of a victim of human trafficking or exploitation? We hear stories of people in the transportation industry all the time who have come across a situation that made them suspicious, and compelled them to action -- to making a call.

We want to hear YOUR story!

You could be in the running for TAT's prestigious Harriet Tubman Award, presented by WEX, which comes with a $5000 cash prize and trophy. What is the Harriet Tubman Award?

In 2013, TAT created an award to honor members of the trucking industry whose direct actions impacted those victimized by human trafficking. That award has now been expanded to include members of the bus and energy sectors as well. The goal is to recognize those whose actions helped to recover the exploited, improve the lives of victims or prevent human trafficking and/or s*xual exploitation from taking place. The award is named in honor of Harriet Tubman, the famed abolitionist credited with using the Underground Railroad to transport enslaved people to freedom. She was never caught and never lost a passenger.

Head to www.tatnonprofit.org/hta to fill out the nomination form and/or read the stories of past winners! Nominations close August 15.

IN THE NEWS: Labor Trafficking of a Middle Schooler - Los Angeles, CA

A 26-year-old man from Thousand Oaks, Brandon Holguin, allegedly labor trafficked a 14-year-old Los Angeles County middle schooler by making him prepare hundreds of items of clothing for online resale after taking the victim’s cell phone so he could not be contacted by his family. He is also accused of forcing the victim to take Adderall while he worked. The victim was left stranded on a Los Angeles freeway in the middle of the night, nearly three days after the teen was reported missing.
