Here's the latest round-up of recent human trafficking news articles📰
🔹A three-day undercover operation led to the arrest and indictment of five men in Omaha for various charges, including attempted s*x trafficking (Nebraska)
🔹An adult victim was s*x trafficked throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island and South Carolina, and their trafficker pleaded guilty to s*x trafficking, s*x trafficking of a minor, and conspiracy to commit s*x trafficking (South Carolina)
🔹A Houston, Texas inmate attempted through threats and intimidation from behind bars to transport a victim from Utah to Texas to engage in prostitution while receiving the proceeds (Utah)
🔹A man was convicted of five felony counts, including s*x trafficking, arson, interstate transportation for the purposes of prostitution and unlawful possession of a fi***rm by a felon (Wisconsin)
🔹A man from California was sentenced to 210 months in prison for six federal felonies related to a multi-state s*x trafficking scheme which funded his lavish lifestyle (Washington)

When adults in the s*x trade are viewed as making "informed career choices," ultimately abuse is perpetuated and opportunities for intervention are stifled. Adults are JUST AS worthy of intervention, hope, and restoration as youth are!

Listen to and amplify survivor voices like the late Beth Jacobs. Let those with lived experience shift the narrative around these issues so that we believe, protect, and open doors for healing. 💜

"At the time of her death, she was working with Polaris and Equitas on best practices for prosecutors working on human trafficking cases as well as survivors' needs post-exit, including vacating of records.
