IFCS Colorado

IFCS Colorado Integrated Family Community Services (IFCS) provides food and financial assistance to families in need through community support.

Integrated Family Community Services (IFCS) is a meeting point for hunger and food support in our community. Collaborating with local philanthropists including generous donors and a robust team of volunteers, we provide basic human services and enrichment programs to those experiencing food insecurity in our community. Serving the greater Denver metro area in a 50-mile radius, IFCS nourishes lives on multiple levels and welcomes your contribution.

A huge thank you to HomeAid Colorado and everyone who participated in the annual Builders for Babies diaper drive! This year's donation to IFCS totaled an incredible 143 boxes—that's an estimated 40,000 diapers that will help support local families in need.

Did you know that SNAP benefits cannot be used to purchase essential hygiene items like diapers, soap, and shampoo? For many families, these necessities can place a significant strain on already tight budgets.

These donated diapers are going to make a huge difference for shoppers that visit the Market @ IFCS for food assistance and other resources to stretch budgets and keep families afloat during challenging times.

We are deeply grateful for this generosity and for the community partners who help ensure families have what they need. 💙

A big thank you to our partners at Southwest Food Coalition for stopping by with delicious conchas and other goodies! We’re grateful for their ongoing support and partnership.

Southwest Food Coalition has facilitated collaboration and community among regional food access partners since 2020, and IFCS is proud to be among their founding members.

Starting in July, the Coalition will begin coordinating *all* deliveries to the Market @ IFCS from Food Bank of the Rockies, which will help us reduce costs associated with rental trucks and fuel.

In addition to this operational support, their team also lends a hand as volunteers from time to time. We appreciate all they do to strengthen our community and support the IFCS mission! 💙

Last week, 32 IFCS volunteers joined IFCS staff to tour Food Bank of the Rockies and learn more about the broader food assistance system we are part of, working together to alleviate hunger.

Thanks to FBR for hosting our group, and to all of our volunteers for your time, dedication, and commitment to our community!

A highlight from the tour was seeing that Food Bank of the Rockies is preparing to open their new onsite pantry and has adopted a color- and shape-coded distribution system based on family size (second to last photo), inspired by the system we use at IFCS (last photo). 😁

It’s rewarding to see ideas shared across organizations as we all work toward making food access more efficient and welcoming for the people we serve.

💙

💡For a typical Denver-area household using both electricity and natural gas, utility bills are generally higher today than a few years ago, and there is a reasonable chance of further increases over the next 1–3 years. A partnership between IFCS and Energy Outreach Colorado helps income-qualified residents stay housed and healthy by providing utility bill assistance. IFCS partners with Roonga, which provides a way to purchase bulk supplies through a wholesale vendor at a fraction of the cost. All items bought on the Roonga website will be sent straight to the IFCS office, where they will be distributed to enrolled families. Thank you for helping to make this support possible!

Did you know:
• 96% of IFCS' expenses are hunger prevention services
• 85% of IFCS' revenues come from in-kind donations (goods & services)
• 15% of IFCS' revenues come from funding support (actual dollars)

This is why we say that we "partner with the community to alleviate hunger." You make these numbers below possible, and behind each number is a person who benefits from your partnership.
