Respect for human dignity is at the heart of who we are and how we serve. We're so grateful for our ministry St. Joseph's School for the Blind and its commitment to supporting and empowering its students.

October is Blindness Awareness Month!

It’s a time to increase understanding, challenge misconceptions, and recognize the importance of accessibility and independence.

At St. Joseph’s School for the Blind, these aren’t ideas we think about only in October. They are part of everyday life.

Throughout the rest of the month, we’ll be sharing stories, helpful information, and moments from our students that offer a glimpse into what blindness, accessibility, and independence can look like.

From golf outings to galas to prayer services, it has been a busy season for our ministries. Many of our sisters, staff, and board members made sure to be present for these events. Our attendance does more than show support—it strengthens relationships, builds connections, and reminds others they are not alone in their work of living out the mission and core values of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace.

As the Season of Creation comes to a close, we pause with gratitude for the waters that sustain us and for the invitation to care for our common home.

On this Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, may we remember that creation is not simply something we live alongside. We are part of it and responsible for its care.

May our gratitude become action.
