Thank you so much for being part of our 7th Annual Walk & Run for Women’s Cancers! Whether you ran the 5K, walked with us, or cheered us on from home, you made this year’s event special.

This year was especially exciting because we added our first-ever certified 5K race to the annual walk. It was great to see our community come together in a new way to support women facing cancer.

Your support means so much more than just signing up or donating. By showing up, sharing our mission, and standing with us, you are helping women get the care and resources they need.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: Walk & Run for Women’s Cancers

We can’t wait to see everyone for our 7th Annual Walk & Run for Women’s Cancers TODAY! Here are a few important reminders before you arrive:

EVENT TIMES
Registration Opens: 7:45 AM
5K Run Begins: 9:00 AM
Walk Begins: 9:30 AM

Please arrive early to allow plenty of time to park, check in, pick up your T-shirt, and get ready before the Run and Walk begin.

PARKING & ROAD CLOSURES
• Arriving before 8:45 AM? Park in Lot C.
• Arriving after 8:45 AM or need to leave before 10:20 AM? Park in the Parking Deck (Lot A).
• The road will be closed from 8:45–10:20 AM for the 5K and Walk. Vehicles parked in Lots B and C will not be able to exit during this time.

T-SHIRTS
If you registered by the T-shirt guarantee deadline, your shirt will be waiting for you at check-in. Additional shirts will be available **first come, first served while supplies last.**

Yesterday marked the end of Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month, but the need for awareness, education, research, and support continues year-round.

Throughout September, we recognize the five main gynecologic cancers — ovarian, cervical, vaginal, uterine, and vulvar — and the women and families affected by them.

When you register for the Walk & Run, you’re doing more than joining us for one morning!

Funds raised through The Lewin Fund help support promising women’s cancer research AND programs that assist patients and their families with everyday needs during treatment.

That includes transportation assistance, food pantry programs, house-cleaning services, psychosocial support, education and more.

Join us on October 4 and help us continue filling the gaps in cancer care.

Cervical cancer screening rates are dropping fast in the U.S., and it's creating a dangerous gap in women's health.

According to recent data, the percentage of women ages 21–29 who have never been screened skyrocketed from 12.5% in 2005 to 31.9% in 2023. That means nearly 1 in 3 young women are missing out on life-saving care.

The good news? Cervical cancer is highly preventable with regular screenings and early detection.

Don't wait—talk to your healthcare provider, book your appointment, and remind the women in your life to do the same. Early detection saves lives!
