The MGACSF provides college scholarships caddies and those who work in service to golf.

The Metropolitan Golf Association Caddie Scholarship Fund (MGACSF), formerly called the Westchester Golf Association Caddie Scholarship Fund, Inc. (WGACSF), is a 501(c)(3) charitable and educational, nonprofit organization, that provides financial need-based scholarships to caddies and others who work in service to golf at local participating golf and country clubs throughout the following counties: Fairfield (CT), Bronx, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester (NY) Counties. The Fund was founded in 1956 by renowned amateur golfer Willie Turnesa and his good friend Udo Reinach. Today, the Fund awards an average of 250 scholars a year, representing an annual one-year tuition commitment of $1.0 million. The MGA Caddie Scholarship Fund is one of the largest organizations of its kind in the country.

This is pretty cool.

We spotted Caddie Scholar alum, Ryan Rodriguez at this year’s French American challenge Am Am between the MGA and Ligue de Golf de Paris.

Ryan was there capturing and sharing content for his longtime friend and colleague, Christian Cavaliere, who’s representing for team Met Area.

NEWS: We’re so humbled to share that we’ve received a generous gift from one of our newer alums. 💙

Justin Hanratty, who recently reconnected with The Fund, has committed a $100,000 Legacy Donation through his employer to support future generations of MGACSF recipients.

Hanratty said: “I chose to support the MGA Caddie Scholarship Fund because it played a significant role in shaping both my personal and professional life. Many of the habits that have helped me succeed professionally today were first developed on the golf course, including work ethic, accountability, attention to detail, and relationship-building. These were lessons that weren’t and couldn’t be taught in a classroom.”

We’d like to extend our deepest gratitude to Justin for his generosity and say how grateful we are to have him in our MGACSF family. 🫶

The MGA Caddie Scholarship Fund held its annual meeting at Wykagyl Country Club on Thursday where its leadership recapped the year, reviewed financials, brainstormed ideas to boost alumni engagement, and welcomed its newest staff member.

Kelci Henn started in the fall as Manager of the Caddie Scholarship Fund. In her role, she'll play an instrumental part in the efforts to grow and strengthen The Fund. She'll manage operations and coordinate activities, goals, and objectives while being on-site for MGACSF events.

"It is inspiring to be part of a mission that creates opportunities for students through the game of golf, and I look forward to continuing to work alongside such a passionate team," Henn said.

She added: "In just over a month, I have already had the opportunity to see firsthand the dedication and hard work that goes into making a meaningful difference in the lives of scholars throughout the area."

All three caddied together at GlenArbor and found themselves together again this week. This time, they celebrated the impact of The Fund and helped create those same opportunities for future caddie scholars.

The MGACSF held its 12th annual Friends of The Fund outing this week, bringing together a community of people supporting The Fund with the goal of continuing its impact.

Another Fundraising staple, this invitational event celebrates those contributing to the MGACSF.

We look forward to bringing The Fund community together again to enjoy a day of golf and celebrate the collective impact we're able to make on the lives of young men and women in the Met Area.

Now, Barrantes is excelling in the financial industry after graduating from Liberty University.
