Because Belmont Park is a shared campus with UBS Arena and Belmont Park Retail Village, NYRA has enacted several changes to the historical admissions and parking policies to ensure that owners and trainers have access to both parking and the building during the limited opening this fall.
NYTHA has received significant feedback from our membership on the new policies. In response, we hosted an informative webinar with NYRA Executives Andrew Offerman and Matt Chmura to address concerns.
Here are some of the FAQs from the NYTHA Membership.
Are admission and parking for owners and trainers FREE at Belmont Park?
YES. Owners and trainers who have a New York State Gaming Commission license are eligible for a NYRA badge, and all owners with NYRA credentials are granted free admission and parking at Belmont Park. Owners are encouraged to use the new online system to arrange for admission and parking before arriving at Belmont Park, but they will not be turned away if they have not made arrangements ahead of time. However, if Silver Parking is fully reserved, owners will be directed to the overflow lots which require a shuttle back to the grandstand. We therefore encourage all participants to reserve parking ahead of time. Owners can stop by the Racing Relations Office in the Racing Office Building for admission passes.
Can I use my owner’s badge for admission to Belmont Par
NO. NYRA Badges will not grant admission to the grandstand and will not guarantee access to parking at Belmont Park this fall. Owners will need complimentary admission tickets and parking passes. and are strongly advised to obtain them before getting to Belmont Park.
For owners who have horses entered, NYRA’s Racing Relations Office will provide additional accommodations, premium parking access and/or additional hospitality, as permitted.
If you have horses racing and have not yet made hospitality arrangements for raceday, please contact Davis Klein ([email protected] // 646-772-5983) or Gabby Migliore ([email protected]) in NYRA’s Racing Relations Department. Managing owners are encouraged to handle accommodations for their partnership groups.
For owners without horses entered, complimentary admission tickets and parking are available to all licensed owners by clicking here for race days during the Fall Meet that runs through Dec. 6 (subject to availability). Access to online admission and parking is granted through the email address you have on file with NYTHA; please contact us at 718-848-5045 if you have an issue.
Can an owner get admission and parking on the day they plan to attend?
YES. Admission passes and parking, if not sold out, are available through the online system on racedays, allowing for last-minute decisions to come to the track.
Can an owner get into the paddock with a NYRA badge?
YES. A NYRA badge will get an owner into the Belmont paddock. There are two exceptions. 1) Only the connections of the horses in a claiming race are allowed into the paddock for that race; 2) Special paddock passes are needed on Belmont Stakes Day.
Do the box seats on the second floor provide access to hospitality areas?
YES. NYRA has made an adjustment to the box seat policy, and all box seats will include access to either the Overlook or the Turf Lounge.
Do backstretch workers have access to the grandstand?
YES. Backstretch workers can pick up general admission tickets at the BEST, RTCA and NYTHA offices. They are also granted access when running a horse. They have the same access as all general admission ticket holders.
Is there an area that is exclusively for owners and trainers?
YES. There is one space dedicated to owners and trainers, the Paddock Lounge overlooking the paddock. This is reserved for the connections of horses running on the day and is meant as a meeting point and for short-term accommodations for those with horses racing. It is not meant for all-day accommodations.

Trainer Passes & Parking
Trainers have been provided access to season admission via the e-mail on file with the NYRA Racing Office for more flexible entry options; those needing assistance can visit Racing Relations.
Trainer parking (Lot Silver D) is provided by showing a valid trainer credential. If you have yet not picked up your new credential, please complete the process in Racing Relations as soon as possible to ensure you retain access to the trainer parking lot.
UBS Arena Event Traffic Days
During many live racing days of the Belmont Fall Meet, securing parking will be a relatively straightforward. However, as previously noted, Belmont Park is now a shared campus. UBS Arena will be hosting events on the following days that will dramatically increase traffic and will impact parking operations. Currently, the following race dates have scheduled events at UBS Arena (unless specifically noted, UBS Arena Events take place in the evening following live racing and the main impact will be increased traffic leaving the facility):
Sunday, October 25
Wednesday, October 28
Thursday, October 29
Friday, October 30
Saturday, October 31 – 2:00PM NY Islanders Hockey
For the reasons above, it’s very important NYRA have an accurate parking count to ensure that racing patrons have parking and access protected during these overlap events.
