We love giving back to our community. Today, we are proud to have shared our love for gardening and our knowledge with the Senior Center at York Township. The group did winter sowing and planted seedlings over the last few months. Today, we helped them plant those seedlings in the donated raised beds. Can’t wait to see their harvest!

Today, we installed three raised beds at the York Township Building. Members of their Senior Program have been nurturing vegetable seedlings. We can’t wait to help them plant on May 29. The harvest will be used in the Senior Hot Meal program. Everyone wins!

Another fantastic plant sale is in the books. Thanks to everyone who came out and bought beautiful plants. Thanks to our high school volunteers and to the Elmhurst Park District. And of course, thank you to our club members who spent so many hours working to name this event happen. See you next year!

The City of Elmhurst knows! Our Plant Sale this coming Saturday at 8:30 am is the best kept secret. Don’t miss it!

Two of our members, Rosalie Ward and Jim Tyree, dropped off some new raised beds to the residents of Greencastle Apartments of Elmhurst. They are expanding their food growing program and we are delighted to support that effort!

Teamwork makes the dream work. Our members have been busy working on potting hundreds of plants for our upcoming annual Plant Sale on May 16 at The Depot! We are thrilled with the variety and health of the plants. Be there from 8:30 to 1 to see for yourself!

It's happening! Keep your lights off at night to help the birds navigate their migration.

THIS WEEKEND: Bird migration is starting to ramp up with a busy weekend on tap. Estimates for both Saturday night and Sunday night exceed 100 million birds taking flight and heading northward. Lights can confuse and disorient these birds, so consider turning off all unnecessary lights after dark!
Friendly reminder:
Wednesday the 15th put out your oriole & hummingbird feeders as males from both species will start to trickle into our area.
