Today 32 of our members spent the day at SEMO FFA Field Day at the university farm. Students had the opportunity to act as agriculture consultants where they went to various stations, solving problems to help save the farm. They got to visit some cool exotic animal species as well as some local businesses who were presenting some cool employment opportunities! Definitely a great day in the Ag program!

It was a busy day for the Ellington FFA chapter! The day started bright and early at the SEMO District fair, where Junior Emma DeMent showed her market goat. Emma is the first member of our chapter to show an animal. She placed third in her class and did an amazing job in the showmanship category. Congratulations Emma! Your hard work paid off!

This afternoon we had our September FFA meeting. The students had to work through a FFA escape room, designed by Treasurer Morgan Gromer. The students had a great time and learned a lot! The year is off to a great start with many more adventures to come!

The 2026-2027 Ellington FFA Officer team was installed at our annual banquet on May 2nd. Since that time, they have worked tirelessly to prepare for the upcoming school year. They met several times for planning meetings, sponsorship sales, and finally wrapped up summer activities today with an officer retreat to relax, unwind, and do some team building before the year starts. A huge thank you to Logan Valley Christian Retreat for hosting us, feeding us, and becoming a Diamond sponsor! We appreciate all you do to support our chapter!

This year’s officer team consists of:
Cecilia Orzel - President
Clayton Stahl - Vice President
Rose Feeler - Secretary
Morgan Gromer - Treasurer
Jozee O’Neail - Reporter
Colton Amsden - Sentinel

We can’t wait to see where the year takes us!!!

Last night we got to celebrate Area 16 student accomplishments at the annual Area 16 banquet. Our Knowledge team was recognized for receiving 2nd place at Area LDEs. Members Eleanor Feeler, Jozee O’Neail, and Josh Rayfield received blue ribbons for their efforts.

Abby Bass received 1st place for her Food Service Proficiency project as well as her Area Degree.

And finally our chapter received the Area 16 Single Ag Teacher Sweepstakes award. This award is given to a chapter based on a points system where you earn points for involvement & proficiency in Career Development Events and Leadership Development Events. We are incredibly honored to receive this award and are so proud of all the hard work our members put in to achieve this accomplishment this year!
