This Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice reminds us of the greatest kind of love, one that lays down its life for others. As Scripture says, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13

Today, we remember with gratitude, pray for the families who carry their legacy, and thank God for the freedoms we often take for granted.

May we live in a way that honors their courage, cherishes our liberty, and reflects the faith that sustains us.

📣 Last call for Middle School CLC Registration for the 2026-2027 school year.
Do you have a student who will be in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade next school year? We would love for them to be part of CLC!

✨ Important:
Students who would like to take CLC must have a registration form completed in order to be placed in a class.

📝 How to Register:
• Fill out the online form here:

• OR pick up a hard copy at the Middle School CLC campus or the front office at CCMS

Lissette has taken CLC five times, and her continued commitment speaks volumes about her heart for learning and growing in her faith. One of her favorite things about CLC is how it helps her better understand God and gives her a fresh, meaningful perspective on life. She approaches each lesson with an open mind and a willingness to grow, which has been evident throughout her time in the program.
As Lissette prepares to move up to high school, she is carrying with her an important and powerful lesson: to never judge others, and to always show love and respect to everyone. This reflects a maturity in her faith and a genuine desire to live out what she has learned. It’s clear that the truths she has gained through CLC are not just things she hears, but values she is choosing to apply in her daily life.
Looking ahead, Lissette is excited about the opportunities that high school will bring. She shared that she is especially looking forward to meeting new CLC teachers and continuing to grow in her relationship with God. Her eagerness to keep learning and building new connections is a wonderful sign of the journey ahead.
Lissette is truly a joy to have in CLC. Her kind spirit and commitment to living out her faith make her a bright light in the classroom. We are so proud of her and excited to see how she continues to grow and impact others in the years to come.

🎓 Congratulations to Our 2026 CLC Scholarship Recipients 🎓

CLC is excited to award this year’s scholarships to two deserving seniors. Julissa was awarded the $500 scholarship, and Nathan was awarded the $250 scholarship.

We are so thankful for the opportunity to invest in students as they prepare for the next chapter of their lives. At CLC, our desire is not only to help students grow academically, but to encourage them to grow spiritually and walk boldly in their faith.

We pray that God will guide each of these students in their future plans and continue to use them to be a light for Christ wherever they go.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6

We are so excited to share our May newsletter and all that God has been doing through CLC!

One of the biggest highlights this month was the incredible success of our Run for the Son 5K. We have seen firsthand how God continues to bless this event year after year, not just in numbers, but in impact. From the amazing support of our sponsors, to the dedication of our volunteers, to every single person who showed up to run, walk, and encourage, God used it all to further His work through CLC.

Lives are being touched, students are being discipled, and opportunities are being created because of a community that continues to say yes to investing in the next generation.

We are especially grateful to hear from CLC teacher Buddy Smith in this month’s newsletter, as he shares his heart and perspective on what God is doing in and through our students. His words are a powerful reminder of why this ministry matters so much.

This Mother’s Day, we honor the women whose love reflects the heart of God. 💐

Mothers are nurturers, encouragers, teachers, and prayer warriors. Through every sacrifice, every lesson, and every quiet act of love, they show us what grace looks like in action.

“Her children rise up and call her blessed…” — Proverbs 31:28

Today, we celebrate every mother, grandmother, mentor, and mother figure who has poured faith, strength, and love into the lives of others. Your impact reaches far beyond what you can see, and your legacy is written on hearts for generations to come.

Today we celebrate not just another year of your life, but the blessing you are to all of us. Your faithfulness, steady heart, and servant spirit do not go unnoticed. You lead with kindness, show up with consistency, and reflect Christ in the way you care for others.

We are so thankful for the way you invest in students, encourage those around you, and serve with humility. Your life is a reminder of Proverbs 16:3 — “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” You truly live that out.

May this year be filled with God’s favor, renewed strength, deep joy, and continued purpose. We pray the Lord blesses you abundantly and uses you in even greater ways for His glory.
