Today, we pause with reverence to honor the mothers and families whose loved ones made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Behind every Gold Star is a family whose life was forever changed. A mother who carries her child in her heart. A spouse, parent, sibling, child, and family who carry memories, love, and a sacrifice beyond measure.

To our Gold Star Mothers and Gold Star Families, we see you, we honor you, and we remember your loved ones. Their names, their service, and their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Blue Star Mothers of America stands beside you today and always with our deepest respect and gratitude. 💛⭐

May we never forget that the freedoms we cherish came at an extraordinary cost, carried not only by our Fallen Heroes, but by the families who continue to carry their legacy.

Military Moms Lift Others 💙

There is something special about the friendship between military moms.

We understand the pride. The worry. The waiting. The missed holidays, late night phone calls, deployments, homecomings and all the emotions that come with loving someone who serves.

Sometimes the greatest encouragement comes from another military mom saying, “I understand. I’ve been there, too.”

That connection can turn strangers into friends and friends into sisters. We celebrate the good days together, encourage one another through the difficult ones, and remind each other that we never have to walk this journey alone.

That is what Blue Star Mothers of America is about. Finding friendship, belonging and a community of military moms who lift one another up. 💙🇺🇸

Four years ago yesterday we lost a chapter member. She will always remain a member as a Blue Daisy. We miss you Debbie; your son Evan will always be remembered too!

Tomorrow is never promised to anyone. Our Chapter supports one another always.

I remember having a baby and a toddler in preschool. Those sons both grew up and joined the army later. The oldest left 9/11/2018 (seventeen years afterwards) for boot camp ironically.

Living close by the pentagon and watching it unfold on tv was gut wrenching. Some of us remember finding out a coworker, friend, spouse, or family member perished that day.

Recalling the events makes me remember how much Americans came together then. Everyone also supported our police, fire, and military.

Do something great today: Donate to a nonprofit like Chesapeake Blue Star Mothers Chapter supporting our military and veterans. You could even bring some goodies to a police or fire station. Making contributions still impacts our first responders who put their lives on the line for all of us everyday, not just today.

Remember our first responders still need your support! 🇺🇸

One Conversation Changes Everything. ⭐💙

Sometimes it starts with a simple question.

“Is your son or daughter serving in the military?”

That one conversation could introduce a military mom to a community she never knew was waiting for her.

A place where she can find understanding without having to explain. Where another mom understands the pride, the worry, the missed holidays, the deployments, the phone calls, and all the emotions that come with loving someone who serves.

That is the heart of Blue Star Mothers of America.

Every one of us has an opportunity to reach another military mom. Introduce yourself. Tell her about Blue Star Mothers. Invite her to a meeting. Share our organization with someone who may need the connection and sisterhood we provide.

You never know what that invitation could mean to her.
