🇺🇸 MEMORIAL SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT 🇺🇸

Dear Leaguers, Friends, and Family,

It is with heavy hearts that we share the details of the memorial service for our dear friend, fellow Marine, Vietnam veteran, and Past Commandant of Marine Corps League Detachment #1238, Tom Shine
o
Tom’s memorial service will be held at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California. The family welcomes all Leaguers, friends, and family members to attend as we come together to honor Tom’s life, his service to our country, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew and loved him.

📅 Date: Friday, December 11, 2026
🕐 Service Time: 1:00 PM sharp
🚗 Arrival Time: No later than 12:30 PM to line up vehicles for the procession to the memorial site.

Marine Corps League Members: Please wear your red covers and Marine Corps League polos, or undress uniform with red covers, as appropriate.

Sacramento Valley National Cemetery
Dixon, California

Let us come together as a Marine Corps family to pay our final respects to a fellow Marine, a dedicated leader, and a dear friend. Your presence will be a meaningful tribute to Tom and a show of support for the Shine family during this difficult time.

Rest in peace, Tom. Fair winds and following seas. You will never be forgotten.

🕊️ NOTICE OF PASSING 🕊️

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Past Commandant, Tom Shine, who went to Heaven this morning, October 19, 2026.

Tom was a valued member of our Marine Corps League family, and his loss will be deeply felt by all who knew him. During this difficult time, we ask that you keep Tom’s family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.

His family has respectfully requested no phone calls or visits at this time. Please honor their wishes and give them the privacy and quiet they need as they grieve. We will share additional information as it becomes available.

May God wrap His loving arms around Tom’s family and give them strength, comfort, and peace in the days ahead.

God be with them all.
