Black Youth Leadership Project -BYLP

Black Youth Leadership Project -BYLP Intentionally serving our community UNAPOLOGETICALLY!!

Through its yearly programs, Black Youth Leadership Project (BYLP) seeks to introduce more youth to the legislative process in an effort to connect the need for and an understanding of democracy and public service at an early age. Through accumulation of concepts, ideas and a greater understanding of the role of citizen and government, BYLP lifts today’s youth closer toward tomorrow’s platforms of

academic achievement, career growth and leadership opportunities. BYLP is committed to ensuring the youth have a voice at the table during all discussions had by officials whether elected or sworn to protect and serve. We believe the youth are the leaders they have been waiting for but understand the role we as adults must assume in order to insulate and protect them as the develop.

Enthusiasm is a very powerful force in our wellness circle. Walking into the room with a can-do attitude is the type of energy that leads to proper preparation. Willingness to go above and beyond is what allows for success in and out of wellness circle.

BACK TO SCHOOL, BACK TO PURPOSE! 🎒📚

A new school year means new goals, new opportunities, and a fresh chance to grow. At BYLP, we’re here to make sure our youth and families don’t have to navigate it alone. 🖤

From academic support to leadership development, wellness, advocacy, and community resources, we’re building spaces where young people can learn, lead, and thrive.

✨ Resources & Programs at BYLP include:
📚 SPARK Program — academic readiness, college planning, FAFSA support & essential life skills
🖤 BBSN & BGSN — mentorship, leadership development & community building
🗣️ Advocacy Programs — helping youth understand their voice and the systems that impact them
🥦 Community Food Pantry — groceries and support for local families
💚 Wellness & Family Support — resources focused on the well-being of youth and families

Whatever this school year brings, remember: preparation is power, and you have a community behind you.

Our Boy's Support Wellness Circle has "Boy" in the name, because we refuse to allow our boys to be seen as something they are not. Time and time again, the system has placed harsher judgement on our Black children and tried them as adults in the court of law. Our wellness circle ensures that our boys can develop skills, as children, so that they can carry them into manhood.
