We have meetings the 1st Tuesday of every month and several events that we sponsor. To become a member:
-Attend 3 meetings total and make sure that we have noted your attendance and put it on the agenda.
-Members vote at the next meeting then you pay your annual dues and you are in! We meet at the New Hope Baptist Church on the corner of Sunset (Highway 66) and Reformatory Road in El Reno at 7pm.

Cruise in to the Canadian County Historical Museum at 5pm this Saturday!

The Canadian County Museum will host the Second Annual Twilight at the Depot on Saturday, September 19, on the lawn of the historic Rock Island Depot, 300 S. Grand Blvd. in El Reno. The old-fashioned evening will feature live music, classic cars, local history, good food and plenty of community fellowship.

The evening begins at 6 p.m., giving guests an opportunity to view classic cars from the El Reno Cruisers and explore the museum’s historic exhibits. Visitors can step inside the 1907 Rock Island Depot and tour the Red Cross Canteen, Hotel El Reno, Possum Hollar School, Mennonville Mennonite Church and Red Barn while learning more about the area’s history.

Food will also be part of the evening, with onion burgers sizzling on the grill and available for purchase inside the Red Barn, along with other tasty treats.

Live music begins at 7 pm on the Mary K. Ashbrook Bandstand. Brad Jones of Mustang will open the evening, followed by Makenlee Shieldnight at 8pm, then at 9pm the Canadian River Howlers will finish the evening with their Oklahoma-based blend of country, folk and Americana music.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the music on the museum lawn. Optional trolley rides will also be available, adding another touch of nostalgia to the evening.

Tickets may be purchased in advance at www.canadiancountymuseum.com or at the Canadian County Museum Wednesday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call 405-262-5121.
