Blessed to start back in classes this evening for the fall semester. Finding the blessings in the little things will be our weekly focus for the semester as we move through the Beatitudes. Thankful for the volunteers who make such an impact in the lives of those we serve.

Prepping for classes with riding work, desensitizing work, monthly hoof trimmings, and just plain old love in the air (for each other and for the mineral buckets). We can’t wait for classes to start in ten days!

We are in need of scholarships to cover 18 of our 90 students for this fall. Our regular donations cover 75% of costs for a semester but we always ask families/schools to cover the remaining portion if possible. However, we never turn down an individual family for financial reasons. This semester because of the economy we have more students needing support. $300 covers the remaining portion for each student or $30/session. If you can help cover one day or one student it would be greatly appreciated. We also have an Amazon wishlist if you’d prefer to help cover snacks and other needed items for the semester.

You can give financially at house-of-healing.org

Another successful volunteer training for our upcoming semester at House of Healing. If you are interested in volunteering and missed the 2 training dates let us know so we can get you started on the process. Our volunteers mentor and support those we serve. You don’t need horse experience to be a volunteer, just a passion for helping others by showing the love of God to them through attentive listening and connection. We will teach you the horse safety needed at our regular training.

Great morning of volunteer training and horse time at House of Healing. We have one more training for this coming semester Tuesday evening, Aug 25, from 6:30-9:00. Learn what we do and why we do it from the human interactions to the horse interactions. We offer equine assisted learning for teens, veterans, and their families in a safe, Christ-centered environment. We especially need daytime volunteers M-W. If you’ve been looking for a place to connect this is your chance to find your home away from home at House of Healing!

Summer in the city…hot day at the UCO Volunteer and Part Time Job Fair for the ladies from HOH. We spent the morning recruiting volunteers and sharing our mission with the young adults that stopped by our tent. We are so thankful for those that answer the call to volunteer. They keep this program functioning so well.

There are so many ways to serve and support. If you can’t volunteer you might consider donating snacks for our classes, lunch for our Monday group, or even just money for operating costs. Equine work is pricey and we try to keep our costs as low as possible or free for those that can’t afford even the small semester fee we suggest for our nighttime classes. Your donations help make that possible.

Thank you DB Hauling for the delivery and donation of a load of dirt. This allows us to correct some erosion areas in our pastures to help keep our horses safe.
