Can any birders out there help us ID this beautiful juvenile owl from the Ecuadorian Amazon?

To set the scene, on a walk just after lunch, we walked into a thick area of the forest, where the canopy was covered in vines. We saw a silhouette of a bird fly swiftly through the vines and as we watched where it went, we noticed 2 baby owls, curiously looking down at us.

Thats how got this photo of one individual, before it took flight into the thick brush, escaping any potential threat!

We hope everyone has a spooky Halloween! 👻

However, on this day of spooky spirits and horrifying howles, we want to remind everyone that the majority of the animals that you will see on your feed today aren't scary or dangerous - we as humans have just associated scary with ie. Snakes or bats or spiders.

For most people, fear is because of a lack of knowledge on that species. Every species is important and should be looked at with the same respect, even on Halloween 🎃

We’ve officially secured our Emerald Arch base in the Ecuadorian Amazon! We are so excited to share that we are officially operating out of a plot of Amazon rainforest, the first of many plots on Emerald Arch’s radar.

We have learned a tremendous amount within the last few months and are excited to utilize this knowledge in our future land purchases! 🍃
