What does it mean to hope expectantly, even when everything feels uncertain?

Yakhal means to wait with hope - not passively, but with trust and confidence.

Our May 23 concert is built around that idea. It features music inspired by voices like Langston Hughes, Amanda Gorman, and Mahatma Ghandhi, and songs like "The Times They Are A-Changin’" and "Can We Sing the Darkness to Light?"

It’s a night about hope, change, and holding on.

Come experience this special concert with us: 7 p.m. Saturday, May 23, Edmonds Center for the Arts

A note from our director about this piece, "Adiemus:"

Music is power, beauty, and grace—even when it has no "meaning." Sir Karl Jenkins’ "Adiemus" uses phonetic gibberish rather than traditional lyrics to prove that the power of song transcends language. We perform this to remind ourselves why we love music: its ability to inspire us is purely, wonderfully organic.
