Last week, we enjoyed our September Leader Lunch at Pub W! We loved spending time with familiar faces, and see alumni catch up with one another as well as making new connections.
These lunches are always a great opportunity to connect, build relationships and enjoy some good conversation with fellow community leaders. Thanks to everyone who joined us! We’re already looking forward to the next one!

Last week, Leadership Edmond Class 41 had their first session, and we jumped right into all things City of Edmond!

The class got an inside look at how our city government works, heard from Visit Edmond, learned about 911 and emergency management, planning, City of Edmond Parks and Recreation, Government and heard from Chief JD Younger about the Edmond Police Department. They also got a behind-the-scenes look at traffic engineering and how the city’s traffic cameras help keep Edmond moving. And, of course, they got to experience Citylink, Edmond’s bus system, firsthand!

It was a full day of learning, exploring, and getting to know the people and services that help make Edmond such a great place to live!

A big thank you to our day chairs, Jane Robertson and Brady Bieber, for helping make our first session such a great day!

One of the coolest parts of Leadership Edmond is our Nonprofit Board Intern Program!

Each year, our class members have the opportunity to serve as an “intern” on a local nonprofit board, giving them a behind-the-scenes look at how nonprofits serve our community and a chance to get involved in a meaningful way. Participants don't have a financial obligation or voting rights.

Last week was Match Day! Our Leadership Edmond Class XLI members got to meet the nonprofit they’ll be working with and hear more about the organization, its mission and the work happening right here in Edmond.

We’re excited to see our interns learn, serve and contribute throughout the year. We have some incredible nonprofits that make such a difference in our community!

We kicked off the year with an incredible retreat at St. Crispin's Episcopal Conference Center!
Our two co-chairwomen Tami Shaw and Deanna Boston did an fantastic job facilitating the retreat and setting the stage for a great year ahead. Class 41 spent time getting to know one another, discovering their Working Genius, sharing plenty of laughs, and enjoying the beautiful setting at St. Crispin’s.

We’re already off to a great start, and we can’t wait to see what this class accomplishes together!
