Calling Edmond’s next generation of leaders!

Applications are now open for the 2026–2027 Edmond Mobile Meals Teen Leadership Council!

Designed for local high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors, this six-session leadership program gives students the opportunity to build leadership skills, serve their community, and make a real impact in the lives of Edmond seniors.

Throughout the program, students will:

⭐ Discover their personal leadership style
🤝 Learn how collaboration, adaptability, and compassion shape strong leaders
💡 Connect with community leaders and learn how local nonprofits work together
📣 Create a Giving Tuesday campaign to raise awareness about issues facing seniors
🎁 Assemble holiday gifts and shelf-stable food boxes for homebound seniors
❤️ Help Edmond Mobile Meals address senior hunger and social isolation

Students also receive:
• Hands-on nonprofit and community service experience
• Opportunities to meet other service-minded student leaders
• Volunteer hours that may be applied toward NHS requirements
• A college recommendation letter upon successful completion of the program

📅 September 2026–March 2027
🎓 Who can apply: Sophomores, juniors & seniors attending local public, private, or home-based schools
⏰ Application deadline: September 11 at 5 p.m.
📞 Finalists will participate in a short phone interview the week of September 14
🎉 Selected students will be notified by September 21
📍 First meeting: Wednesday, September 23 at 4:30 p.m.

Fourteen years ago today, something truly special happened at Edmond Mobile Meals… Toni Washington walked through our doors.

Since that day, Toni has led the preparation of 871,219 meals that have nourished homebound seniors throughout Edmond. Behind every meal is her unwavering commitment to quality, nutrition, and the belief that every person deserves food prepared with care and dignity.

Toni has transformed our kitchen into so much more than a place where meals are made. Through her creativity and expertise, she has elevated our menus to be both nutritious and delicious. Through her kindness, humor, and genuine spirit, she has created a place where volunteers love to serve and friendships naturally grow.

If you've ever spent time in our kitchen, you know that Toni's laughter is contagious, her standards are high, and her heart is even bigger.

Toni, thank you for 14 incredible years of leadership, compassion, and service. Edmond Mobile Meals is a better organization because of you, and we are so grateful to celebrate this milestone with you.

Edmond Utility Customer Service is responsible for collecting payments for Edmond Electric and will not call from this phone number. Utility Customer Service employees will not represent themselves as Edmond Electric and will not request payment in the form of crypto, gift cards, or peer-to-peer apps. Please disregard any callers who threaten to shut off electricity or demand immediate payment.

Railroad closing alert...

Volunteers should note the upcoming new street closures at railroad crossings in Edmond!

TRAFFIC ALERT: BNSF Railway has notified the City of Edmond of two upcoming railroad crossing closures. The City of Edmond requested to delay, but the closures cannot be postponed because BNSF crews are already scheduled to travel across the rail system to conduct necessary maintenance on both crossings.

Drivers should plan for potential delays and use alternate routes during the following closures:

Sorghum Mill Road: Closure will begin August 12, with work expected to be completed by August 24.
Coffee Creek Road: Closure will begin August 14, with work expected to be completed by August 26.

Our clients hardly ever feel isolated or lack companionship.

But for those who do, we have BIG success with our FRIENDLY VISITOR PROGRAM.

Some relationships begin with a meal delivery.

Others grow into lasting friendships.

Our Friendly Visitor Program pairs volunteers with seniors for regular visits focused on companionship and conversation.

Participants overwhelmingly say these visits make a meaningful difference in their lives.

Sometimes the greatest gift isn't food. It's friendship.
