I know most equestrians notice, but this is for the equestrians. This is a very interesting fact.

Your horse cannot vomit 🐴 The muscles of the oesophagus only push food toward the stomach, never back. That's one big reason colic can turn serious. Did you know this before? Always check with your vet about your own horse.

This summer, the Friends Of Silverwood Park researched re-roofing the bat refuge house. After the discussion and vote to move forward, we were concerned about the bats being in house. Working with Heather K. from the DNR we got to go ahead at the end of October after the bats have migrated.
Yesterday was a long day for the Silverwood bat refuge house. At 7 AM it started with asbestos roof removal. By 12:30 PM Diaz roofing company started bringing material to re-roof the refuge. 2:30 PM that process started by 3 p.m. Heather K. from the DNR was on site. She discussed the best extra roof entrance for the small and large brown bats. An opening was created within one of the roofs air vents. All was completed by 6 PM. I bet we have one of the most luxurious and costly bat house refuges around. A condominium of sorts is in the planning stages for the inside.

So good to see the equestrians enjoying the Fall colors at Silverwood Park. Saw many dog walkers this morning as well.
