New Grant Funding Available

A new grant program will provide financial support for businesses and nonprofits that move into existing vacant commercial properties. The Main Street Bounceback Grants program, administered through the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), will provide up to $10,000 to pay for rent or mortgage payments, operating expenses, building repairs and improvements, and more.

To be eligible, businesses or nonprofits must be moving into a vacant commercial space in Wisconsin and must not be closing another Wisconsin location in order to make this move.

WEDC is working with nine regional economic development organizations to quickly disburse grant funding. Applications opened on August 9th. The program runs through June 30, 2022. Businesses and nonprofits interested in learning more about the grants should go to: wedc.org/mainstreet-bounceback.

We invite you to the Rural Arts Forum, taking place on Friday, June 18, in Amery, WI. Join colleagues and friends involved in the arts, creativity and community in northwestern Wisconsin, to discuss and celebrate new beginnings.

We are finally able to come together to share successes and ideas how to grow the region creatively and help creative people, businesses and communities flourish in the post-pandemic era. If you are involved in the arts, culture and creativity in your community, you'll want to be involved in the Forum's discussions about creativity, transformation, and capacity as we emerge into a new normal.

Admission and lunch are free and open to all. It's not mandatory that you register to attend, but it helps us know how many people to plan for. Celebrate new beginnings, connections, ideas, friends, and inspiration at the 2021 Rural Arts Forum.

As a leader, public speaking is going to be expected from time to time. It is impossible to hide under the radar. Public speaking is long known to be one of the most common fears. This workshop will help you move out of your comfort zone and use your unique gifts to be the best public speaker YOU can be. We work on tips for live and virtual speaking whether making a presentation, facilitating a discussion or simply speaking up in a meeting with greater clarity.
