You can mail the Albion Prairie Association at P.O. Box 92, Edgerton, WI 53534. We are currently looking for board members. We meet the first Monday in April and the first Monday in October.

Ruth Whitcomb’s (1901-1092) gravestone has been broken for years, but has now been repaired. On Wednesday, my brother, Keith; a friend, Tom; and I used stainless steel brackets and glued Ruth’s grave stone back together again. Ruth is the daughter of Ellen (North) and Rev. Lucius Whitcomb and a first cousin to Sterling North, the author of Rascal.

Richard, Tom, Dan and I planned on raising Patience (Slater) Dunn Abbott’s stone, but as we dug it out we realized it was a broken keyed tablet. We will have to re-set this stone so we can read the inscription at the very bottom (which hasn’t been seen for a very long time.)
Note - Patience married two Civil War veterans: her first husband, Corporal William Dunn, died during the Siege of Petersburg and is buried in Virginia. (Wm. Dunn has a grave stone at the Albion Prairie Cemetery, but it is a cenotaph - a memorial stone, without a burial). The second, Corporal William Abbott, moved to South Dakota after Patience died at the age of 26 in 1867. A fitting job to prepare for Memorial Day.
