We said goodbye to Fiddle last night. Fiddle was rescued from Pioneer Days in 2019 - an event where he was thrown off of a roof into a crowd of humans for entertainment. Prior to being thrown off a roof in February in Wisconsin, he was kept in a crate on the snow with his leg out and suffered frostbite. Fiddle had to have his leg amputated, and he did so good for so long in spite of it. As he aged, his mobility worsened and his leg began to buckle. While he had a wonderful friend in Scully (who also has one leg), and plenty of soft places to land, his quality of life had gone downhill over the last month. His arthritic ankle began to swell more every day, he had almost no control over his mobility and didn’t even want to be outside. It is such a hard call to make for our friends every time. His suffering had increased more and more to the point where continuing his life was worse than respecting what we believe with all our hearts he wanted. Fiddle will be around for the rest of our lives in more ways than one - by being featured in a design by and as a matching tattoo on Quincy and Finn (by ). This is a big loss for us, he will be so missed. Despite having one leg, he outran us more than once. He loved treats and face pets. He never struggled to express himself, and he was almost too cute to be real. Thanks for letting us love you, thanks for trusting us for so many of your life decisions through the years. Rest in peace forever and ever Fiddlesticks.
