We are two weeks out from this exciting volunteer opportunity! 🛠️ Our waitlist of older adults in Preble County needing grab bars for accessibility keeps growing. Join us on Saturday, October 17th either as an installer (putting the grab bars in with provided tools and supplies) or an educator (sharing falls prevention materials). We’re honored to celebrate 30 years by giving back to organizations that mean so much to the people who have been part of our story.

✨ THOUGHTFUL TUESDAY ✨

Did you know we see people who are hungry in our office everyday?

Our Little Free Pantry has been a steady source of support for so many in our community, but right now, our shelves are looking a little bare. 🥫🍝

We’re currently in need of:

• Peanut butter & jelly
• Canned protein (tuna, chicken, etc.)
• Canned meals (ravioli, SpaghettiOs, beef stew)
• Canned soups
• Easy snacks (granola bars, peanut butter crackers, etc.)
• Ramen
• Spaghetti sauce & noodles

If you’re able to pick up an extra item or two while grocery shopping, we would be so grateful. Even one item can help put food in someone’s hands when they need it most.

Thank you for always showing up for our community and helping us make sure no one leaves our office hungry. 🥫❤️

We had such a fun time at the Pork Festival Parade! 🐷❤️

Our HIT Foundation team loved getting out into the community, enjoying the beautiful day, seeing familiar faces, and handing out plenty of candy along the way! 🍬🎉

Celebrating HIT Foundation style 🌈 🏡 Thank you, Preble County District Library ! 🖍️

For the last two years, a local Preble County man was experiencing homelessness. He was living in local motel rooms and, at times, staying in his vehicle. He faced significant barriers that made finding stability and housing especially challenging.

Throughout his journey, he continuously connected with local resources and support. Restored Ministry helped him obtain a vehicle and insurance, while My Neighbor's House became a familiar and safe place for support and connection. They walked alongside him as he worked to overcome barriers and apply for Social Security benefits. During this time, Home Is The Foundation continued outreach with him and searched for housing.

There were times when the journey felt overwhelming and he considered giving up. Still, he continued moving forward at his own pace.

After a long journey, he finally secured housing and proudly signed the lease last month for a place of his very own. His story is a reminder that with persistence and support (and the right resources), stability and hope are possible!

🚲 BICYCLE NEEDED!

One of our shelter clients and his wife are getting ready to move into their own home next week! As they take this exciting step forward, he shared that having a bicycle would help him get around and get to the places he needs to go. 🏠

We’re hoping someone in our community may have a bicycle in good condition that they no longer need and would be willing to donate.

Sometimes something as simple as a bicycle can make a big difference when someone is working toward a fresh start.

Did you know that our team put together Welcome Home Kits when a client moves into stable housing? We believe everyday essentials can help turn a house into a home! Right now, we're collecting new and gently-used supplies to help clients make this transition. 🧽🛏️🍽️🛁 Drop off at our office any time during open hours!
