👏🏼 Thank you DDA for providing all your expertise and supporting your communities!!

Congrats to these 3 “Pro” dancers in this past weekends “Preble County Dancing with the Stars”⭐️
Chelsea Sorrell, Danielle Simpson and Brylee Simpson all took on the challenge of partnering up with a preble county star. This event was a fundraiser for the United Way of greater Dayton and was a HUGE success 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 The event was organized and put on by Leslie Bassler who did a wonderful job. These 3 proudly represented DDA! Brylee and her partner, Mark Mathews won the “ people’s choice” award. 🪩 but all 6 routines killed it. It was truly a great evening for our county. These three DDA teachers are already counting down the days until next year 💕

And finally meet our MC for the night. Mike Derringer!

Mike Derringer serves as the County Superintendent of Schools, and as such is the Superintendent of the Preble County Educational Service Center. Through this, he oversees special education programming throughout the county, county enrichment activities, home instruction, facilitating Cohort meetings among all Preble County schools, and high school graduation affirmation among many more responsibilities. He serves on the Preble County United Way Board, Eaton/Preble County Rotary, Preble County Special Olympics steering committee, and is an Ohio High School Athletic Association official. A 2003 National Trail graduate and lifelong Preble County resident, Mike and his wife Alison and daughter’s Miranda and Colleen live on their hobby farm outside of New Paris. Mike is grateful for this community that continues to support wonderful causes such as this.

I am so incredibly grateful for everything Mike has done for this event. From checking in daily to helping out with whatever is needed. His heart is as big as Texas and it shows with his passion and love in serving our community and supporting everyone around him. THANK YOU MIKE!!!

And meet our final judge! Todd Appledorn!

Todd serves on our board here at Preble County and has been such a huge vital role in helping with all the things. We are so incredibly grateful for him bringing his “expertise” to this event tonite. When I asked Todd to send me a quick bio to share today about his judging experience, his response was.

“I judge dance’s like I judge casseroles”.

Oh it’s gonna be a fun one this evening!!!!

TODAY is the day!!

This morning I’d like to introduce you to our judges!! Meet Amanda and Orion Gullett!

Amanda and Orion are honored to serve as choreographers for this year’s Dancing with the Stars charity event in Eaton.

Amanda was born and raised right here in Eaton, Ohio, making this event especially meaningful to her. She has been a professional ballroom instructor with Arthur Murray International in Dayton for over 10 years, where she has trained countless students and competitors while cultivating a deep love for teaching and performance.

Orion has also been with Arthur Murray for over 10 years, building his career in Santa Barbara, California. The two met at a dance competition in 2021, where their shared passion for ballroom brought them together both professionally and personally. Orion later moved to Dayton to begin their life together.

Now proud parents to their two-year-old daughter, Amanda and Orion are thrilled to share their love of ballroom dance with the Eaton community. They are passionate about growing the art of dance in small towns and are excited to support such a meaningful local event.

Andrew has been a student at Arthur Murray in Dayton for five years. He actively competes in ballroom pro/am dance competitions with his teacher Amanda several times a year, but this will be his first time dancing as a professional!

Meet David Metzger-Martinez!! Partnered with Carrie Kerby!!

David began his dance journey as a student at Arthur Murray in Dayton two years ago. He was so passionate about dancing that he decided to leave his job as a mechanic and make dancing his full time job!
