Third Street Alliance inspires and equips women, children, and families to live, learn, and thrive. Public transportation available within one block.

The Learning Center is open 6am-6pm; General office hours are 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday. From its beginning in 1909 as a grassroots YWCA, then later becoming Third Street Alliance in the 80's, the organization provides resident shelter for homeless women with or without children, and accredited child care in a creative and educational environment. Public rentals of the lovely historic rooms, gymnasium, and stage are also available. Visit the agency's Website for program details, events, and ways you can support the vital community services.

An eviction record shouldn't stand between a family and a safe place to call home.

For the women and families we serve, an eviction can have consequences long after they’ve overcome a housing crisis. Even when they’ve worked hard to rebuild their lives, an eviction record can make it difficult to secure a home—leaving families struggling to find the stability they need to move forward.

Eviction record sealing can help change that. HB 1095 would allow eligible eviction records to be sealed, helping our clients overcome barriers to housing and giving them a fairer chance to find a home, create stability for their children, and build a stronger future.

At Third Street Alliance, we believe every family deserves the opportunity to be Safe. Stable. Stronger. Eviction record sealing is an important step toward making that possible.

Pennsylvania is closer than ever to making this a reality! HB 1095 has advanced unanimously out of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Here's how you can help!

Call Senate leadership today and urge them to pass HB 1095 this week. Your voice can help women and families move beyond an eviction record and toward a future where they can feel safe, become stable, and grow stronger.

Every October, we recognize Domestic Violence Awareness Month and reflect on the women who turn to Third Street Alliance during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. For survivors of domestic violence, finding safety is only the first step toward rebuilding.

In the Lehigh Valley, 1,015 domestic violence survivors contacted the state’s housing and support services helpline. Across Pennsylvania, a single day in 2025 saw 1,839 adults and children find refuge through emergency shelters, transitional housing, hotels, motels, and other housing provided by local programs.

Third Street Alliance is one of those safe havens. From the moment a woman arrives, our trauma-informed team provides support tailored to her needs, connecting her with medical care, housing assistance, employment opportunities, and child care, including services through our Learning Center.

But shelter is about more than a safe place to sleep. It is about having the support, resources, and time to regain stability, make choices for the future, and begin again with confidence. At Third Street Alliance, women can take those first steps toward a safer, more stable future for themselves and their children.
