Thank you to everyone who came out for our Open House and Ribbon Cutting! What an incredible day, the weather was perfect, the horses were happy, the volunteers were smiling, and everyone enjoyed the music. We welcomed more than 200 people through the Red Gate to visit, connect, and learn more about our programs and horses.
We are so grateful for this amazing community and for the supporters who make our Sanctuary and programs possible. Your generosity helps us continue caring for our horses and serving the people who benefit from our work.

We’re feeling so grateful! 💚🐾
One of our amazing volunteers, Kayleigh, recently turned her Civics class project into something truly special for the sanctuary. Not only did she create a beautiful, information filled poster, but she also organized a fundraiser and personally spoke with each customer, answering questions and sharing her passion for our mission.
We think this was definitely an A+ project! 🌟

🐴❤️There’s something truly special about the quiet connection between humans and animals.

As the school year winds down, we’re already looking ahead to fall, planning new programs, welcoming familiar faces back, and inviting new friends to experience the magic of being in the presence of horses and other sanctuary animals.

⭐️In this sweet moment, Terrence the donkey gently shared his world with a new friend, smooth hooves, prickly tail hair, and his soft, downy back, all while simply enjoying each other’s company.

❤️❤️❤️Watch as our friends from Center School in Holyoke develop confidence, communication, patience, and self-awareness in our Work Based Learning program. Working alongside a horse teaches students how to stay present, read body language, and respond with intention. These hands on experiences create meaningful opportunities for growth, connection, and skill-building that carry far beyond the barn.

🐴🐴Our horses depend on us every single day, and we take that responsibility to heart. From cooling showers on dangerously hot days to careful monitoring of hydration, health, and comfort, we do everything we can to make sure each horse in our care is safe, supported, and loved.

Many of our older sanctuary horses are especially vulnerable in extreme weather, which means extra attention, extra supplies, and extra hands are always needed. That’s why your support matters so much.

🌞⭐️Even with three days of rain the sanctuary can't stop. Our animals still need daily care, lessons still need to happen, and the work of keeping this place running continues no matter the weather. Even on the rainiest days, horses are exercised, tack is cleaned, the farrier still comes, and the barn stays full of life, laughter, and purpose.

🐴❤️ Every lesson, every quiet moment, and every connection between horse and human reflects our mission to provide a safe, supportive, and judgment free environment where healing, confidence, and growth can happen. Our horses do so much more than carry riders, they help build balance, coordination, communication, self-esteem, and trust for the individuals we serve.
They are patient teachers, steady companions, and an essential part of the care and comfort we provide every day.
