"Below and Within," a new exhibit at the Big Red Frame & The Elusie Gallery featuring the work of artists Julie Kumble and Martha Brouwer, will showcase a vibrant celebration of the world’s oceans and the life thriving beneath the surface.

Running from June 6 through June 27, this collection explores the underwater realm, from the quiet beauty of a single fish to the collective power of a massive shoal. Through their paintings, the artists hope to spark a deeper reverence for these hidden environments and inspire a stronger commitment to protecting our waters.

Martha Brouwer brings insights from her history commercial fishing in Alaska, translating nature’s patterns into fresh, unique perspectives on canvas. Julie Kumble, influenced by her background in scientific illustration, uses fluid oils and playful collage to capture the mystery of an aquatic world we rarely see.

You're invited to attend the Artist Reception during Art Walk Easthampton on Saturday, June 6, from 4 to 7pm. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet the artists and experience the beauty of the "down under" firsthand.
