Meet Mary McLeod Bethune.
In October 1904, with only $1.50 and an unshakable belief in the power of God and education, she rented a small house and opened the Educational and Industrial Training School starting with six students. From that humble beginning, she went on to open the first hospital in Daytona, Florida, and later founded the National Council of Negro Women in New York City, changing lives and shaping history through courage, vision, and determination.
