Today, President Janet Cianelli and members of the East Haven Lions Club joined fellow Lions from across Connecticut to participate in the Opening Eyes program at Special Olympics Connecticut.
Through this incredible initiative, Special Olympics athletes received vision screenings and eye health evaluations, helping ensure they have access to the care and resources they need to succeed both on and off the field. The Opening Eyes program, a partnership between Special Olympics and Lions Clubs, provides free vision screenings and eyewear to athletes with intellectual disabilities.
More importantly, we were given the privilege of serving some truly inspiring athletes. Their determination, sportsmanship, and positive spirit were a reminder of what makes the Special Olympics community so extraordinary.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered, organized, and participated in making today such a meaningful event. We are honored to be part of a mission that helps athletes see a brighter future—one pair of eyes at a time.
