Clarum Sonum is a volunteer group of singers and musicians. We are dedicated to musical outreach and championing new works. Our organization is open to people from all walks of life, regardless of musical background, training, or economic status. Clarum Sonum's goal is to build an inclusive community through performance, collaboration, and musical outreach. Clarum Sonum is a choir community. As an organization, we support innovation in music by regularly commissioning and programming performances of new works by local composers. We collaborate with other arts organizations to enrich the musical landscape of local communities, and to enable new and larger musical projects that would be difficult for one group to undertake alone.Our members come from countless backgrounds and beliefs, musical and otherwise. We believe that our different identities, experiences, and stories make our community stronger and our music beautiful and sincere. How does Clarum Sonum create, work toward, and achieve their mission:
-- We provide education and support to beginning singers and musicians, as well as a variety of challenges to seasoned artists.
-- Members have an active role in choosing and preparing repertoire for its seasons, and are given opportunities to conduct, educate, accompany, and sing in a variety of capacities.
-- Members are given an active voice in the artistic direction of the ensemble, individually shaping the sound of the choir together. We believe above all else that our choir community is a family. We strive to provide a safe, just, and inclusive environment where everyone can feel their voices are heard and their needs are addressed. Want to support us? We are only five days away from our 2026 Gala, featuring a performance of Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel. In the leadup to our event, we are showcasing each of our cast members, including our Sandman, C. Paige Porter. C. Paige Porter is an active performer and music educator in the greater NYC region. Recent credits include music directing The Addams Family and The Sound of Music and performing Margaret in The Light in the Piazza at Rad Theatricals, performing Josephine in HMS Pinafore at Light Opera of NJ, Phyllis in Iolanthe and Belinda in Dido and Aeneas with Ridgewood G&S, Madame in Beauty and the Beast with Eccentric Theater Company, and the title role in Kiss Me Kate at Madison Public Theater. Other favorite roles include Fiordiligi in Cosi Fan Tutte, and Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus. She is a founding member of Clarum Sonum, and can frequently be seen singing choral repertoire throughout the tri-state. Paige holds a Bachelor of Music from Westminster Choir College and Master’s degree from Manhattan School of Music.

In the leadup to our event, we are showcasing each of our cast members, including our Witch, Dr. Malcolm S. Richardson. Malcolm S. Richardson is an interdisciplinary vocal artist whose work spans opera, concert, sacred music, musical theater, arts education, and so much more. He holds a Doctorate and Master’s degree in Music Education from Liberty University School of Music, concentrating in Ethnomusicalogy, and a BA in Music Vocal Performance from Lincoln University, our nation’s first historically Black degree-granting institution of higher learning. A familiar presence on the opera stage, Malcolm has performed with OperaDelaware, Opera Baltimore, and Berlin OpernFest, most recently portraying Hexe in Hänsel und Gretel in Germany, Spoletta in Tosca, and Beppe/Harlequin in Pagliacci. He also appeared as Man One in Jason Robert Brown’s Songs for a New World with Ovations Drama Theater and in concert at the Clifford Brown Jazz Festival. Beyond the stage, Malcolm has been appointed by Governor Matt Meyer to serve on the Delaware State Arts Council, the advisory board for the Delaware Division of the Arts. As the Witch in Hänsel und Gretel, Malcolm returns to a role that celebrates his versatility, theatricality, and love of storytelling.

Veronica Shea is a singer, actor, producer, and digital marketer passionate about storytelling and sharing authentic onstage connection with audiences. Favorite roles include Julie Jordan in Carousel, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Musetta in La Boheme, and a host of G&S heroines. Some favorite choral solo engagements include Beethoven’s Mass in C and Christ on the Mount of Olives, Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass, Mozart’s Requiem, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, and Poulenc’s Gloria. Veronica serves as the Executive Director of Harmonium Choral Society and Clarum Sonum, and is the president of Ridgewood G&S. In addition, she works as a marketing and development freelancer through Amplify Arts.

Alejandro De Los Santos, Colombian bass-baritone, specializes in Italian opera and Spanish zarzuela. He has performed internationally throughout Italy, France, Belgium, and the Czech Republic, as well as in major U.S. cities including San Antonio, Miami, and New York City, and is a member of the Grammy-nominated choral ensemble Seraphic Fire. He debuted the role of Ponce in the world premiere of The Tin Angel by Daniel Asia. He recently performed as Captain Corcoran in H.M.S. Pinafore with LONJ and is excited for his debut role as Father in Hansel and Gretel.

Viviana Kaszubski is a mezzo-soprano and educator from Boonton, New Jersey, and a 2024 honors graduate of William Paterson University, where she earned a Bachelor of Music in Classical Vocal Performance. With over a decade of training in musical theatre and dance, Viviana has developed a broad performance background spanning musical theatre, classical voice, jazz, and choral music. Her recent performance credits include Lady Saphir in Patience with Ridgewood Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company, Edith in The Pirates of Penzance and chorus in Madama Butterfly with Light Opera of New Jersey, as well as Dido in Purcell’s Dido & Aeneas and Camilla in the American premiere of Jake Landau’s & Aeterna. She currently serves as Music Director at West Side Presbyterian Church Nursery School, teaches voice at Riverdale Music Academy, and is an assistant conductor with Concord Singers.
