The Cycle Effect's mission is to empower young women through mountain biking to create brighter futures and build stronger communities. The Cycle Effect focuses on three primary goal areas: physical wellness; community impact and mentorship; and building brighter futures. By providing an opportunity for girls to be engaged in regular, healthy programs that help build their self-esteem and promotes overall wellness, girls are more likely to be healthier, stay engaged in school and set goals that will support their future.

Colors are starting to show in the mountains and the sunsets are absolutely spectacular! Fall riding really is a delight for the senses! 🍂

The Routt County Mujeres y Pedales team enjoyed an unforgettable ride on Flash of Gold and their hooting and hollering was joyfully heard throughout the evening.

Coach Joanne summed it up perfectly: “Time went by too fast and we all wanted to ride longer, but visibility was gone.”

These are the moments of connection that make being part of a team so moving.

Those Mesa County sunsets ✨✨✨

The girls mountain bike team enjoyed a ride on Lunch Loops and are practicing getting comfortable on rock features.

The Mujeres y Pedales team worked on cornering and static holds to really feel bike/body separation from side to side.

Our visit to Glas Deffryn Ranch has quickly become a favorite Routt Girls Mountain Bike Team tradition.

Steve and Pam generously support our team in so many ways including opening the gates to their ranch, sharing their private trails, introducing the girls to their Scottish Highland cows, and welcoming our team into their world.

The girls get a glimpse of life on a working ranch, enjoy a delicious BBQ, gather around the fire, swap stories, laugh, and simply spend time together away from the bikes. It’s a chance to experience a different side of our community and to appreciate the people and places that make Routt County so special.

We’re incredibly grateful to Steve and Pam at Glas Deffryn Ranch for sharing their home, their acreage, and their time with our girls. 🖤
