Last week, 18 awesome volunteers came out to help us cut willows for a Town of Vail restoration project!

Thanks to their hard work, we harvested about 10 bundles of willows near Bighorn Park in East Vail. These willows will help support restoration work throughout the watershed.

We have just one more Restore the Gore event left this year: September 17! If you’d like to spend a morning outside, get your hands dirty, and help restore our local waterways, we’d love to have you join us.

🦺 Cleanup season is officially here! 🗑️

Tomorrow is our first Eagle River Cleanup Pick-Up Party! If you’re signed up to volunteer with a team, come grab your trash bags and safety vests so you’re ready to hit the river.

Tomorrow night! Come shop, sip, and support the Eagle River Coalition at Lilith Moon Exchange from 4–6 PM.

Lilith Moon has been featuring ERC all month, with proceeds from their special donate rack benefiting our work to protect the Eagle River watershed.

Tomorrow, we’re celebrating with an evening of shopping, personal styling, bubbly water, and mini tarot readings.

Come find something fabulous, have a little fun, and support your local watershed nonprofit while you’re at it!

Something new is pouring at Eagle River Coalition.

We’re thrilled to unveil Whisky & Water, a brand-new ticketed experience bringing together two things you might not expect to find in the same glass: whisky and watershed science.

On September 24th from 5–7pm, join us in Minturn to travel up to the property for an elevated evening at the idyllic Chalet Homestake View. We’ll provide transportation up to the property, where you’ll enjoy:

-Whisky samples from our local partners at Minturn Whisky Co.
-Seasonal appetizers
-An intimate setting in the beautiful Homestake Valley
-Stories connecting whisky history and culture with the incredible ecosystems that make this place special

It’s an opportunity to learn something new, taste something special, and experience the Homestake Valley in a whole new way, all while supporting the work of Eagle River Coalition.

It's that time of the month again! We're seeking volunteers for our Restore the Gore work day with Town of Vail - Government this Thursday from 9am to 12pm. This month, volunteers will be working near Bighorn Park collecting willow cuttings that will be used for a new restoration project site in Vail later this fall. ERC partnered with CPW, the Town of Gypsum, the Eagle Ranch Wildlife Protection Board, and the BLM to install this low-water crossing at the top of Abrams Creek to address serious sediment flows that were harming a native, indigenous population of Umcompaghre Cutthroat Trout in the creek.

These fish are genetically pure, and their adaptations to low water and high temperature likely exist nowhere else in the world! They are an important part of CPW’s reintroduction efforts and a Core Conservation species. We are proud to do our part in preserving their small habitat.

August is here, and the water story across Eagle County remains serious.

An exceptionally dry winter, early snowmelt, and months of below-normal precipitation have left our watershed with less water to work with this summer. River flows are now well below normal for this time of year, and Eagle County remains in drought conditions. At the same time, dry vegetation and continued heat have kept wildfire danger high. Stage 2 fire restrictions remain in effect across the county.

The good news? Our community is responding. Water use across the Eagle River Water & Sanitation District service area is down 24% so far this summer, including an estimated 41% reduction in outdoor irrigation. Every drop conserved helps.

Across Eagle County, water providers have different rules and restrictions in place. We’ve compiled a valley-wide snapshot of current water use regulations to make it easier to understand what applies where.

This list is a starting point, but always check with your local water provider for the most up-to-date requirements.

And as we navigate a dry summer, remember that water conservation and fire safety go hand in hand.

Join Eagle River Coalition and Gravity Haus Vail for BUG KICKING, where you’ll brave the stream, disturb the aquatic inhabitants, and identify the tiny creatures that help us determine just how healthy our waterways really are.
