Even as the administrative side of things is unclear, volunteers continue to care for the land and make plans for its future betterment.

A local earth steward, Aidan, has offered to host work parties this season, rain or shine. Everyone is welcome to join! The most important projects include digging out blackberry, mulching paths and plants with wood chip mulch, and having fun. The first work party is tomorrow, and we hope to see you there!

Can you feel the winds of change?

The proposal to renew our lease is due tomorrow, September 9 by 4pm. I can’t take responsibility for it all by myself, nor do I want to.
However, I would love to join a team of people, and co-sign a lease with them. So, if you want to join the team, now is the time to speak up.

Let’s tend to a beautiful place, together. This is our love letter to the future generation.

Visit https://www.duvallwa.gov to review the RFP. Send us a message to talk more.

Our apple trees are loaded this year, and we need a hand thinning the fruit. It helps the remaining fruit get bigger and tastier, and keeps the branches from breaking.

If you’re up for some apple picking, come by soon and help thin fruit—down to one apple every 6 to 8 inches is perfect. There are buckets in the eastern tool shed if needed. You can take the fruit home to feed to your livestock, add them to your compost heap, or eat them yourself—they’re just a little tart.

Then, come back in about a month to harvest and enjoy some fresh apples—all you can eat!

If you’re looking for other ways to help tend the food forest, join the conversation on the Signal app. Here's the link to join--

So proud and thankful for our local Girl Scout Troop 41292. Last year, they installed a blueberry patch at the food forest. This year, they’re dreaming up some much needed building and signage projects! But first, they need money to cover the cost of materials.

Come check out the rummage sale that they’re hosting. Tomorrow, 11 to 5pm

Grab yourself some gently used and new items that you’ve been calling in while supporting your local Girl Scout Troop and the Duvall Food Forest.

Stay tuned for details about projects they’re cooking up! Photo is from their booth yesterday at the

Free compost from !

King Conversation District’s Community Agriculture Program supports the creation and sustainability of community gardens as a way to grow food together, build stronger neighborhoods, and promote environmental and personal well-being. This year, we were glad to support their efforts, and fortunate to receive 10 cubic yards of nutrient-dense compost through this program. However, it was accidentally delivered to our blessed neighbor’s property—whoops! We need your help in relocating it. You’re welcome to take some compost home for your food garden, and better yet, bring some to the food forest and spread it around one of your favorite berry shrubs or trees while they’re developing fruit. Thanks for nourishing the land and giving back!

Google “Tagro Mix” to learn more about the compost product.
