In recent weeks, the PDHF Board, our community, and Rangers have come together to honor SPC Christopher Gathercole, KIA May 26, 2008.

Through the “Gator” memorial WOD, and moments of quiet reflection, we remember not only his sacrifice, but also his life, his courage, and the example he continues to set. We remain deeply grateful for his service and for the lasting impact he has on all who knew him and continue to honor him. Because of him, we move forward with purpose and pride.

This Memorial Day the Pointe du Hoc Foundation was grateful for the opportunity to support runners participating in the Wear Blue run, honoring the brave service members who gave their lives in action. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten, and we are proud to stand with those who run in remembrance.

Today, we remember David McDowell, who gave his life in service to our nation.

Sergeant First Class McDowell served with honor, courage, and unwavering commitment. His sacrifice stands as a solemn reminder of the cost of freedom and the strength of those who choose to defend it.

We pause to reflect on his legacy, to honor his service, and to stand in gratitude for all who have given everything in defense of our nation.

We will never forget.

This week, we honor the memory of Corporal Pat Tillman, who made the ultimate sacrifice in 2004 while serving with the 2nd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment.

Leaving behind a professional football career, Patrick chose a path of service, demonstrating a commitment to something far greater than himself. His courage and sense of duty continue to inspire all who wear the uniform and those who support them.

Please join us in remembering SGT Dale Brehm and SSG Ricardo Barraza, 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, who gave their lives in service to our nation on March 18, 2006 in Iraq.

Both Rangers served with courage, commitment, and unwavering dedication to their fellow soldiers and to the mission. Their sacrifice reflects the highest traditions of service and the enduring legacy of the 75th Ranger Regiment.

Today we remember SGT Joel Clarkson, 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, who was killed in action on March 16, 2010 in Afghanistan.

SGT Clarkson answered the call to serve and stood among the best of our nation’s warriors. His dedication, courage, and sacrifice will always be remembered.

Today we pause to honor his life, his service, and the price he paid in defense of freedom.
